Chapter 1111

“Yes, yes, and remember to smile,” Pharaoh reminded him gently.
“Yes, Grandpa!” Orion cheerfully responded before diving into Pharaoh’s arms, laughing.
The moon hung high in the sky, and the rooftop echoed with their joyful laughter. Nina and Nash exchanged smiles from below.
“About that agent you mentioned, the one giving Lulu a hard time… Do you want me to step in?” Nash asked as he closed his laptop. “How about this? Tomorrow is the first day of the variety show shoot. I could arrange a dinner for the whole crew in Orion’s name. We could do it at the downtown hotel.”
Nina shook her head, not wanting to reveal Nash’s identity as Orion’s father just yet. “I can handle this. Plus, we have Lulu. It’s her job to manage these kinds of relationships. If she can’t, it would only show that she’s not up to the task.”
“I don’t care about anyone else’s abilities. I just don’t want you and Orion to get hurt,” Nash said, holding her hand. “I know you can handle it, but I want to be your safety net.”
Nina smiled playfully and leaned in close. “Nash, could it be that you’re feeling left out and a little sad that we’re not relying on you as much?”
Nash’s expression froze for a moment, and he gave an awkward laugh. It was true that Nina had become more independent lately, often solving problems on her own or turning to Zoe rather than him. It did sting a little.
Nina gave him a light peck on the lips and reassured him, “Don’t worry. The time will come for everyone to know that Orion’s dad is Nash York. Once Orion has a solid fan base, you’ll get your moment to shine.” Though her words were teasing, Nash understood her reasoning. He didn’t press the issue further.
What surprised everyone was that the company assigned Miss Flores as Orion’s temporary agent. The official reason was that one of the celebrities she managed had an overseas shoot.
However, since Miss Flores couldn’t travel due to family obligations, she stayed while Lulu was sent abroad. Although the company’s explanation seemed considerate, Nina didn’t entirely buy it.
On the way to the set, Lulu called Nina to brief her on Miss Flores’ working style and what to watch out for during the variety show shoot. Nina took note of everything but was puzzled by one thing. Why shouldn’t she be too affectionate with Orion in front of Miss Flores? She asked Lulu directly, and after a pause, Lulu quietly explained, “I’ve heard that Miss Flores’s child is in poor health, so she tends to avoid any conversations about kids. Over time, everyone at the company just stopped talking about their own children around her.” Nina understood and reassured Lulu, “Don’t worry, I’ll be careful. You focus on your work abroad. I’m counting on you to make Orion a star.”
Between Lulu and Miss Flores, Nina would always choose Lulu.
When Nina finally met Miss Flores, her decision felt even more justified.
On the first day of shooting, the sun was blazing, and Nina dressed Orion in a blue cap and sportswear, which seemed appropriate for the day. However, as soon as Miss Flores saw him, she immediately frowned and circled him, shaking her head.
“What were you thinking?” Miss Flores exclaimed. “Don’t you know today is the opening ceremony? Why is he dressed so childishly? And that hat? No more of this, Orion’s mom. From now on, you need to video call me every morning so I can approve his outfits.”
