Chapter 1037

Micah still did not give her an immediate answer. “It’s too early to decide. When the time comes, you might regret it.”
“If there’s no country, there’s no home. I’ve known you for a long time, and I understand your responsibilities. Micah, I’m ready to accept everything about you with no conditions. If I’m lying, may I never have peace!” Freya even raised her hand, ready to make an oath, desperate for him to believe her.
Micah gently grabbed her hand, stopping her. “Don’t make such vows lightly. I believe you. I know your heart is with me, and you’re a good woman. But I’m not an ordinary man. My life belongs to the Yaren Tribe.”
“But you can’t give your whole life to the tribe. Even your father got married and had children. You can’t live your life alone. I can…”
Before she could finish, Freya wrapped her arms around Micah. People passed by, but in that moment, all she could see was him. She only wanted Micah.
“I know. Let me think about it.”
“Okay.” Freya beamed, feeling like she had moved him.
Micah was very hesitant, even more so than a woman might be. However, this hesitation was only in matters of the heart. Freya had touched him emotionally, but his reluctance stemmed from a fear of hurting her. When it came to other decisions, especially those involving the tribe, he never hesitated. In fact, he was always the first to rush forward.
Freya smiled brightly. “No matter what you decide, I’ll be by your side, always.”
Whatever Micah needed, she would help him. And if one day Micah was gone, she would follow him. That was her one simple wish in life which was to be with him, no matter what. Everything else did not matter. Three hours later, they returned, only to find that their earlier encounter had made the news.
Nina could not resist teasing them. “Big brother and sis-in-law, you two looked pretty fierce working together out there!”
“Back when the Yaren Tribe was in such chaos, not knowing some self-defense just wasn’t an option. And… I haven’t even married your brother yet, so don’t call me that,” Freya said, feeling a little embarrassed. She liked being called that, but since Micah had not agreed to it, she did not dare acknowledge it.
“You two are already this close. If you’re not my sister-in-law, who is?” Nina teased, completely ignoring Freya’s protests.
Freya blushed even more, unsure of how to respond.
Micah intervened. “Enough teasing us. What’s for dinner? Or where’s your next travel spot?”
“We’re not sure yet. But we did schedule a photo shoot here, so we’ll be around for a few more days. Do you two want to take some photos to mark the occasion?” Nina asked. Micah glanced at Freya, remembering how she wanted to take pictures. “Sure, we’ll do that.”
Nina smirked. They were already so close, yet Micah was still holding back. She was just waiting for the day they would finally make it official and celebrate at their wedding.
But just when everything seemed set, an accident occurred during the photo shoot. The makeup artist accidentally got eyeshadow into Nina’s eye, causing an allergic reaction that landed her in the hospital. To make matters worse, upon investigation, it turned out it was not an accident.
It was deliberate!
