Chapter 1041

Nash had responsibilities to his country, and to Dominic. Even though Dominic was not his biological father, Nash owed him his life and had to repay that debt.
Nina had been upset, frustrated, and angry, but hearing Nash say this only made her heart ache more.
She cupped his face in her hands, “I know you have a lot on your shoulders, which is why I want to be by your side this time. Nash, take me with you.
“I promise I won’t be a burden. If anything happens, I can help by reporting on it. We’re a team. We’re married and we have a child. Whatever comes our way, we should face it together.”
Nash saw the hope in Nina’s eyes. He remembered the promises he had made to her and the look on her face now. In the end, he could not refuse her.
He pulled her close and kissed her, “Alright, you’ll come with me. Stay by my side, and no matter what happens, I’ll protect you.”
Even if it would cost him his life, he would never let anything happen to her.
But before they could head to Salterra, they needed to talk to Micah. Micah did not agree with Nina going. “Nash is going back to handle serious matters, not for a vacation. If something goes wrong, who will look after Orion?”
Nash was not heading back to Salterra for leisure. He was going to handle serious matters. Right now, Salterra was in turmoil, similar to how things were in the early days of the Yaren Tribe.
Back then, it was Micah who recognized Nina because of the emerald bracelet she wore which gave her the advantage to navigate the situation.
But what did Nina have in Salterra?
Even Dominic, her own father-in-law, did not accept her, let alone anyone else. What if it turned out to be a trap?
If something went wrong, Nash could escape on his own. But if he brought Nina along, he would have to take care of her too.
“Orion is safe with Dad. Maybe what we’re saying sounds selfish, but whatever happens, we need to be together,” Nina insisted.
“We’re stronger together. We’ll be fully prepared, and everything will be fine.” Nina was determined to stand by Nash’s side through this. Once this was over, Dominic would have no reason to interfere in their lives, and they could finally live peacefully as a family. Nina had made up her mind, and nothing could change that.
To Micah, Nina was his only sister, and they hadn’t been reunited for long. There was no way he would let anything happen to her.
“I’m going with you,” Micah insisted. “No matter what happens, at least I’ll be there to help. I’ll also contact Joker for backup. Nash, you better make sure everything gets sorted out this time. And if you pull another stunt like you did five years ago and die on us, I swear, I’ll hunt down your body and grind your bones to dust. Oh, and don’t count on your son keeping your last name!”
It was clear they were siblings. Micah’s final threat echoed Nina’s earlier words.
Nash could not help but smile. “If I really do die, whatever you do with my remains is the least of my worries.”
But no sooner had the words left his mouth than Nina shot him a fierce glare. “Nash, are you planning to go over there with a death wish?”
