Chapter 1061

Sean had one thought in his mind which was to protect the Yaren Tribe and Micah. After all, both Micah and the tribe were what his sister had given her life to protect.
On the day Sean left, Nina came to see him off. Sean didn’t want money, status, or any material things. The only thing Nina could give him was a protective charm she had personally blessed.
“Sean, life on the border will be tough. Please take good care of yourself. Even though your sister is gone, we will always be your family, and you’re welcome to come back anytime,” Nina said with a gentle smile.
Sean smiled back, but deep down, he knew that without his sister, the Yaren Tribe no longer felt like home. Even though Nina offered him such kindness, he understood that Nina and Micah had their own lives. He wasn’t a child anymore, and he was aware of that. With Sean gone, the chapter of Arin’s story closed as well. Nina, worried about Micah’s mental state, stayed in the Yaren Tribe for a while.
Outwardly, Micah appeared fine, but beneath the surface, something wasn’t right. His eyes were bloodshot, his face was drawn, and he seemed utterly drained.
Nina couldn’t help but voice her concern. “You really worry me like this. Are you having trouble sleeping at night? If it’s really bad, I can call Wilfred. Maybe he can come and check on you.”
Knowing Micah’s pride, Nina guessed he wouldn’t admit anything to their father, but Wilfred was different. He was thorough, and since they were the same age, there was no awkwardness between them.
“I’m fine-” Micah started, but Freya cut him off.
“How can you be fine? You’ve been restless every night, haunted by dreams of Arin! Micah, she’s becoming your obsession! You did everything you could!”
Micah had seen death before, especially with all the conflicts the tribe had endured. Freya knew that Arin had died trying to save Micah, but she didn’t think it should have affected him this much.
Micah had done everything he could. It wasn’t as if he had intentionally caused Arin’s death. So why had her passing affected him so deeply, leaving him in such a terrible state? Freya held onto Micah, but his face remained clouded with darkness, a heaviness he couldn’t shake. He didn’t want Nina to worry, but Freya had already revealed too much. “Freya! Why are you telling Nina all of this? You didn’t need to say anything!” Micah snapped.
“This is your issue, Micah, and it’s serious. You’re not okay. Why shouldn’t I tell Nina?” Freya’s voice trembled with sorrow, her tears falling like pearls from a broken string.
Nina pulled Freya into a comforting embrace. “It’s okay, Freya. You don’t need to say more. Micah, you need to understand that you can’t go on like this.”
“I’m fine!” Micah’s voice was cold.
At that moment, his expression was intensely serious. How could someone in Micah’s condition possibly have no issues? But Nina knew better. Usually, someone in denial would always claim they were fine.
Nina felt a heavy weight in her chest. “Micah, calm down. We can talk this through. Everything can be fixed. You need to get your life back on track. You can’t let Arin’s death become your obsession. She wouldn’t want to see you like this.” “No, I don’t-I’m not… Ahhh!” Micah suddenly cried out in anguish.
