Chapter 1141

Quincy patted the young man who had cut in line on the shoulder and said, “Hey, please wait your turn.”
His tone was polite but firm. The young man, wearing a pair of flip-flops, turned around with a look of annoyance and snapped, “Mind your own business, man.”
Lydia tugged on Quincy’s sleeve, shaking her head. “Let it go. It’s not worth getting into a fight over.”
Quincy gave her a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry, I’ve got this.”
He then stepped in front of the young man, which made Lydia nervous. She gripped her phone tightly, ready to call the police if things got out of hand. The guy looked like trouble, and she wasn’t sure Quincy could handle him. The young man, now in Quincy’s shadow, looked up with irritation. “What now…?”
Before he could finish, Quincy cut him off with a voice that was still polite but carried an icy edge. “I suggest you watch your tone.”
As he spoke, Quincy casually stretched his neck and wrists, revealing the well-defined muscles in his arms. The sight made the young man’s bravado vanish instantly. He glanced at Quincy and quickly stepped back to his place in line. Lydia, watching this unfold, was surprised. She had always thought of Quincy as a bit of a pushover, never imagining that the body hidden beneath his suit could be so strong. The thought of feeling those muscles made her blush. Quincy noticed her expression and asked, “What’s on your mind?”
Lydia quickly composed herself and cleared her throat. “Nothing, just impressed by how you handled that.”
Hearing this rare compliment from Lydia, Quincy raised an eyebrow in satisfaction but kept his cool. “Alright, let’s grab something to eat. We have a meeting to get to.”
Lydia suddenly remembered their schedule and smacked her forehead. “You’re right, let’s hurry.”
They bought a couple of local specialties, and after finishing their meal, Quincy wiped his mouth with a napkin, checked his watch, and said, “It’s about time. We should head out.”
Lydia still had a few pastries left and looked up in surprise. “Already?”
Not wanting to waste food, she quickly stuffed the remaining pastries into her mouth, cheeks puffed out like a hamster. After finishing, she dabbed her mouth with a napkin, returning to her usual composed demeanor, as if she hadn’t just inhaled her food. Quincy stifled a laugh and said, “Let’s go.”
As the car drove further away from the city, Lydia glanced at Quincy. “If I didn’t know we were headed to a factory for a business meeting, I’d think you were taking me to some remote place to sell me off.”
Quincy rubbed his temples in exasperation. “Do I look like a human trafficker to you?”
“Who knows…” Lydia drawled, her tone playfully teasing.
To Quincy, her playful attitude only made her more endearing.
When they finally arrived at their destination, they were greeted by a working factory and a few men in their thirties and forties waiting outside.
One of the men immediately approached Quincy, extending his hand with a smile. “You must be Mr. Quincy?”
Quincy nodded slightly.
Noticing that the men were ignoring Lydia, he stepped aside and introduced her. “This is Miss Fay, Mr. York’s secretary. She’s here with me to represent Mr. York for this inspection.”
