As Karina expected to coax a bit more out of Wilfred through the cracked door, he suddenly teamed up with his groomsmen, and together they pushed hard, forcing their way inside.
Even though it hadn’t been long since they last saw each other, seeing him now in this setting felt completely different.
Dressed to the nines, holding a bouquet, and surrounded by a crowd cheering him on, Wilfred took one step at a time toward her. Karina’s heart began to race.
Yvette stepped forward, blocking Wilfred’s path with a playful smirk. “You think you can take our Karina this easily? Not a chance!”
With a snap of her fingers, the bridesmaids joined her, speaking in unison, “After you’re married, who controls the finances?”
Wilfred glanced at Karina and confidently replied, “My wife does!”
The bridesmaids continued, “And who gets the final say at home?”
“Her, of course!”
Laughter filled the room, but the questions kept coming.
“Who’s doing the housework?”
“I will!”
The interrogation went on, with Wilfred answering question after question without hesitation.
Finally, when the bridesmaids ran out of questions, Yvette beamed and announced, “Congratulations! You passed the first round.”
She stepped aside to let Wilfred take one step closer, only to block him again. With a mischievous twinkle in her eye, she said, “But words alone aren’t enough. What if you go back on your promises? We need proof!”
At her cue, the bridesmaids brought out a long table from nowhere. On it sat a stack of papers and a pot of red ink.
Each sheet was filled with written promises, leaving a blank space in the bottom corner for Wilfred’s handprint.
The bridesmaids grabbed his hand, pressing it into the red ink and then onto the papers, one after another. Their speed left Wilfred no time to even glance at the contents. He could only catch glimpses of words as they flew by.
When they reached the final sheet, something seemed off.
“Wait a second-what’s this?” Wilfred asked suspiciously.
The bridesmaids said nothing, increasing the pressure on his hand to stamp the paper.
Wilfred managed to pull his hand free, forming a fist as he turned to Yvette. “This was your idea, wasn’t
it?”
Yvette chuckled before speaking
with a mischievous grin, “It’s a contract promising doubled year-end bonuses. What do you all think? Should the director put his stamp of approval on it?”
The room erupted in laughter. Even Wilfred’s own groomsmen turned against him, joining the bridesmaids
in grabbing his hand to press it onto the paper.

The group caused such a ruckus in the bridal suite, it felt like it went on forever.
If not for the fear of delaying the wedding ceremony, Karina thought they might have ended up tearing the entire room apart.
Out on the green lawn, surrounded by countless friends and family, the ceremony finally began.
While greeting guests, Wilfred noticed a familiar figure approaching. It was Nina, walking arm-in-arm with Nash.
As they reached him, Nina held out a beautifully wrapped gift box.
“Congratulations! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness,” she said warmly, handing the gift to Wilfred.
Wilfred accepted it with a nod. “Thank you.”
Smiling, Nina glanced around at the
stunning venue. “The view here is
lovely.

and the bride to enjoy your big day.” She waved and walked off with Nash.
