Chapter 218
Chapter 218:
“Thanks for asking. It’s almost healed,” Amber answered softly.
Selma sneered, “I doubt she p>
“She truly doesn’t care about Crowell’s well-being. She probably wishes his arm would never heal p>
Fernanda’s involvement in Crowell’s injury had left a lasting grudge with Selma, who couldn’t shake her resentment. The thought of it reignited her anger.
How could anyone dare to harm her precious grandson!
“Well, I hadn’t thought of it that way,” Fernanda sighed. “You’re reading too much into it p>
Selma’s eyes narrowed, and she sneered, “I’m not buying it p>
Fernanda shook her head. “Well, feel free to interpret it however you like. I can’t force you to believe me, after all p>
With that, Fernanda headed upstairs, leaving Selma seething over her sarcastic response.
“Every time she returns, she drives me to the edge. What a troublesome girl!” Selma exclaimed, pounding the sofa cushion beside her.
Michelle quickly intervened, trying to soothe Selma with gentle words. Robert, though quiet, felt increasingly frustrated.
Every visit from Fernanda seemed to trigger Selma. And when Selma failed to best Fernanda in their exchanges, she would resort to insults. In Robert’s eyes, Fernanda had become invaluable, someone he would always defend, regardless of any disputes she might have with others.
Fernanda reached her room, which was tidy and clean, clearly having been well cared for in her absence.
“Don’t let Selma’s comments get to you,” Ector said. “She’s always been like that p>
“I’m well aware of her nature. I won’t lower myself to that level,” Fernanda responded, stretching comfortably on the sofa.
Had she chosen to retaliate, Selma might have been utterly overwhelmed by now.

After a brief conversation with Fernanda, Ector left for his room. Feeling thirsty, Fernanda went to fetch some water and encountered Kevin emerging from his room.
She gave him a brief look and then continued on her way, while Kevin paused, visibly surprised.
Kevin respected competence, and his view of Fernanda had changed after she had bested him in a game.
He had devoted a lot of time to mastering that game character but still couldn’t match Fernanda’s skill, always feeling his reactions were sluggish.
He frequently found himself wondering how Fernanda had become so skilled.
By the time Fernanda came back with her water, Kevin was still lingering at his door, deep in thought.
It wasn’t until she shut her bedroom door that Kevin was jolted out of his reverie, suddenly forgetting his original intention of stepping out.
