Chapter 387
Chapter 387:
Cristian walked in just then and took a seat by the window, ordering a drink. Wendy noticed him and decided to serve his drink herself.
“How do you feel about Fernanda’s performance?” Wendy inquired as she approached. “Pretty wonderful, isn’t it p>
Cristian, with a slight nod and his eyes closed, agreed. “Yes, it’s quite stunning p>
Wendy explained, “Our assigned singer is feeling unwell tonight, so Fernanda is pitching in to help. If you’re thinking of asking her out, it might be a while p>
“That’s okay. I’m in no hurry,” Cristian responded calmly, a soft smile on his lips. “Please, focus on your tasks p>
Acknowledging his reply, Wendy set down his drink and retrieved the tray. She couldn’t help but think highly of Cristian, whose presence seemed straight out of a storybook—both handsome and gracious.
Wendy believed that Cristian and Fernanda were well-suited for each other. Visually and energetically, they appeared to be a perfect pair.
Their interaction seemed effortlessly synchronized.
Wendy, having gotten to know Fernanda, appreciated her genuine kindness, sensitivity, attentiveness, and loyalty. Yet, Fernanda could come off as aloof and unapproachable at first. Cristian, too, had a demeanor that seemed distant.
This was the most Wendy had ever invested herself in contemplating someone else’s romantic possibilities.
As she walked back to the bar, the entrance door swung open, heralding the arrival of a woman with the sound of wind chimes, reminiscent of a light summer breeze.
Wendy stole a glance behind her.
The woman, not particularly tall but strikingly attractive, sported light-colored long curls, fashionable bangs, and a refined facial structure. Still, there was nothing particularly standout about her. Wendy had encountered many such striking yet ultimately indistinct faces—individually memorable but collectively indistinguishable.
Typically, such fleeting beauty failed to capture Wendy’s prolonged interest, yet this woman headed straight to Cristian’s booth. Wendy found her gaze inadvertently drawn to Cristian and the newcomer, as if magnetized.

Unaware of the woman’s arrival, Fernanda continued to focus intently on her guitar strings, missing the moment she joined Cristian at his table.
Cristian looked up at the woman and questioned without much interest, “How did you find me here p>
“Just saw your car outside,” the woman answered, tilting her head up confidently. “Bars aren’t really your scene, and I thought maybe you were here to brood. I came in just to make sure you were okay p>
Cristian remained silent, reclining and closing his eyes against the back of the couch. For him, the sound of Fernanda strumming the guitar held more allure than any conversation could offer.
The room fell silent, drawing the woman’s attention to the melodic guitar playing. She glanced over, spotting Fernanda on a high stool.
