Chapter 439
Chapter 439:
Once they got into the car, the door slammed shut, blocking out the howling wind from outside. The quiet inside settled, and the air became peaceful and still.
Fernanda removed the coat from her shoulders, folding it neatly on her lap.
Earlier, Cristian had informed her that he would take her to meet Vinson, hinting that he might have discovered the connection between Vinson and Hertha.
Now that Leon had found out, it wasn’t surprising that Cristian had too. After all, Cristian was more decisive and quick to act than she was.
He was driven by a genuine desire to protect her.
This realization warmed Fernanda’s heart.
From their first meeting, Cristian had been a constant source of support. In times of trouble or unexpected situations, he was always the first to step in, handling things with efficiency.
She couldn’t deny that his dedication moved her.
Fernanda cast her eyes downward, her gentle fingers brushing over the soft texture of the woolen coat resting on her lap. The sound of Cristian’s light cough broke her from her thoughts.
Fernanda turned to see Cristian covering his mouth, his fingers curled as if trying to keep the sound from disturbing her.
“Are you alright?” she asked, her voice laced with concern. “Do you feel sick p>
“I’m fine,” he replied, his gaze briefly meeting hers as he offered a faint smile. “Nothing to worry about p>
Fernanda turned her attention ahead, her voice soft but firm. “You shouldn’t neglect your health. If you feel unwell, see a doctor and take your medicine. Don’t delay it p>
“Alright,” Cristian responded gently, nodding. “I will. Don’t worry.” His voice was comforting, as if he would always give a reassuring answer, no matter what Fernanda expressed.

Fernanda added, “Thank you for this p>
“There’s no need to mention it,” he replied, his tone casual. “I didn’t do much. I just happened to uncover the connection between Hertha and Vinson.” Cristian kept one hand on the steering wheel, using the other to cover his mouth as he coughed softly. “Hertha dared to plan against you. She should be ready to face the consequences p>
“That’s true,” Fernanda agreed. “If Hertha had just encouraged her fans to vote, she might have stayed ahead. But her ambition was boundless. She wasn’t satisfied with just winning; she wanted to elevate her reputation and gain even more followers. That kind of greed invites consequences p>
What confused Fernanda further was the fact that Hertha held a grudge against her and plotted against her because of Vinson’s offer to work with her. How could she be so petty?
With such pettiness, how could Hertha continue to maintain an image of innocence and virtue? It was almost laughable.
