Chapter 682
“Alright,” Fernanda said with a simple nod.
Evie’s excitement didn’t stop there. “Will there be internal tickets for the finals too?” she asked, waving the tickets in her hand. “These are incredible! The view must be amazing.”
Internal tickets were a rare commodity, not available for public purchase, making them highly sought after.
“Yes, there will be,” Fernanda confirmed, a knowing smile on her face. “If you want them, I’ll ensure you get them.”
Overcome with joy, Evie leaped into another hug, practically glowing with gratitude.
She sighed, holding onto Fernanda like she never wanted to let go. “I’ll always regret you can’t be my sister-in-law. That’s one thing I’ll never get over—seriously!”
A wry smile tugged at Fernanda’s lips as she gently patted Evie’s back, trying to ease the intensity of her dramatic lament.
“Alright, alright, lunch is on me,” Evie suddenly perked up as she said. “And we can still be best friends!”
Unable to resist Evie’s infectious excitement, Fernanda agreed and headed out for lunch. Afterward, Evie suggested they check the studio, and Fernanda happily obliged.
“Amazing! This place is so sleek, full of cutting-edge tech,” Evie marveled, her gaze scanning the space as her posture straightened with admiration. “The design is so chic, totally not tacky. You’ve got fantastic taste, Fernanda!”
“The computer setup here is fantastic! Gaming on these must be an incredible experience!”
“This plush toy is adorable! Is this your competition mascot?”
“Wait, is this a streaming room?”
Like a kid let loose in a candy store, Evie was in awe of everything around her.
However, Fernanda couldn’t help but think that Evie’s reactions were slightly over the top.
Born into luxury, Evie was no stranger to anything grand. Yet, her words poured out in a steady stream of compliments, each one more extravagant than the last, clearly aimed at making Fernanda happy. After they’d explored the entire floor, Evie came to a halt, and Fernanda realized just how artful she was with her praise. Not a single phrase was repeated—each one was a new, glowing remark.
Fernanda poured Evie a glass of water, and as the liquid filled the cup, Evie wasted no time. She immediately switched on a computer, eager to experience the speed of the professional setup.
Chatting non-stop, Evie clicked away at the keyboard, barely pausing to take a sip from her glass.
Just as she swallowed a second gulp, a sudden motion snatched the glass from her hand, leaving Evie to choke in surprise.
Turning quickly, she was met by the sight of a young man standing there, his face neutral but his attire polished. However, his messy tufts of hair betrayed a sense of careless rebellion that clashed with his otherwise composed appearance.
“Who are you?” he asked with a sharp frown, his gaze sweeping over Evie with visible displeasure. “What are you doing with my cup?”
