Chapter 66

Neil heard a sharp crack. That was his jaw, dislocating.
He let out a guttural howl, his eyes wild and red, and screamed at Lydia, “Get her! Finish her off!”
His two buddies locked eyes on Lydia, looking like they were ready to tear her apart. This girl had got too bold. If she wanted trouble, they were more than happy to give it to her.
But Lydia didn’t back down. She didn’t even flinch. There was a cool, mocking smile on her flawless face. She moved fast, weaving around every punch they threw, always finding the perfect moment to fight back. She was as quick as a bird, her steps light and sure.
Five minutes later, it was over. Lydia had taken down all three burly guys by herself. They were sprawled out on the ground, groaning and completely defeated.
Chris and his friends just stared, stunned.
Was this for real? How could Lydia be that strong, and beat three guys with nothing but her bare hands?
But she wasn’t finished yet.
Lydia walked up to Neil, planted her foot right on his chest, and looked down at him. Her voice was icy. “Winners take all. You lost. Are you going to accept it?”
Neil’s whole body throbbed with pain. No blood, no cuts, but every inch of him ached deep down. This girl was something else.
“Okay, okay, I give in! You win!” Neil nodded desperately, almost in tears.
Lydia rolled her eyes and took her foot off him, wiping her hands like she’d touched something filthy.
“Take your clothes off, call me grandpa, apologize to them, and pay their medical bills.”
Neil didn’t even think about arguing. He’d already lost. He just had to deal with the humiliation and hope for a chance to get back at her someday.

Watching Neil and his friends actually start to undress, Chris looked horrified. “Lydia, did you really bet that with them?”
She nodded, totally calm. “Yeah.”
Chris quickly grabbed her and pulled her aside. “Don’t watch. That’ll ruin your eyes.”
Then he glared at Neil’s crew, his face full of disgust. “Forget it. I’m feeling generous. You can keep one piece of clothing on.”
So Neil and his guys stood there in nothing but their underwear, then dropped to
their knees and bowed their heads. “Thank you, grandpa.”
Chris finally felt a bit better. He smirked. “I still can’t hear you.”
So they shouted, louder, “Thank you, grandpa!”
Lydia added, “And each of you needs to send one million for medical expenses to the injured guy.”
Cooper, the one who got hurt, was Chris’ close friend and the son of a rich family in the Capital. A million wasn’t a lot for him.
Neil and his friends looked like they’d just been punched again. “A million?”
Lydia’s voice was cold and firm. “Did I stutter?”
Worried she might beat him up again, Neil nodded frantically. “Fine, a million. I’ll transfer it now.”
Each one sent over the money. Then, still in their underwear, they jumped on their bikes and sped off, not looking back.
Chris finally felt like he’d gotten some payback, but his smile faded a little. “Lydia, Neil’s dad is the ambassador from Country D. He’s lived here in the Capital for years, acts like he owns the place. Most people are too scared to mess with him. I’m not worried about myself, but he’s petty and never lets things go. I’m afraid if he finds out who you are, he’ll come after you.”
