Chapter 133

Rose sounded so wronged, so full of righteous anger, like she and her family were the real victims here.
Kylie was shaking, barely able to hold herself together. Cameron, just as furious, snatched the phone from her grip, ready to let loose. But before he could say a word, Rose’s voice came through again, trembling and tearful. “That’s not even the worst part, Kylie. Did you know she’s getting rid of all the top executives? Even Parker’s losing his vice president title. She’s already put out the job listings. Everyone at the company is furious, but she doesn’t care at all. She’s just doing whatever she wants.
“Kylie, I know Lydia’s supposed to be smart, but she has no clue how to run a business. If this keeps up, all the talented people will quit. The company will fall apart. All our hard work, all these years, gone—just like that. All because of her.”
Kylie, who was always so calm and graceful, now looked like a storm was brewing inside her. Cameron couldn’t hold back anymore. His voice was cold and sharp. “Fall apart? Rose, the company has been losing tens of millions every year since it began. What do we even have left to lose? Kylie and I have said it before-Lydia can do whatever she wants with the company. Greenward Power has always been just an afterthought for Norwood Enterprises. If she ruins it, well, that actually saves headquarters a fortune in investment every year.”
He paused, then went on, his voice steady and firm. “But if Lydia really turns things around, that just proves I was right about her. She’s got talent, guts, real business sense. Sometimes you have to burn your bridges before you find a way out.”
Rose hadn’t expected Cameron to be there. Hearing him say all that nearly made her jump out of her skin. “Cameron, you’re here too? I know you’re the one who sent Lydia over, but the way she’s doing things… it’s reckless. So many people have been with the company since day one. She’s pushing them out. It’s like she doesn’t care at all about loyalty or the people who built this place. Doesn’t that make us look heartless as leaders?”
“Us?” Cameron’s voice was ice.
“Rose, the vice president role belongs to Parker. As for you, you don’t even have a position at the company, do you? And you definitely don’t know anything about running a business. You have no right to get involved, no right to vote on any decisions. As for the employees, the company’s been losing money for years. Still, their pay and benefits have always matched headquarters. We’ve never treated them badly. We’re basically using profits from our main business to keep them afloat. If they still think we’re heartless, then maybe we’re the ones who should feel betrayed. Tell me, do you know any other boss who keeps pouring millions into a company that does nothing but lose money, just so the staff can keep their jobs?”
For Parker and Rose, Cameron’s words felt like the world was crashing down around them.
“But, Cameron, we
He cut her off “That’s all I have to say. From now on, Lydia will be in charge of everything. You just need to support her. And about your. son-he calls himself General Manager but doesn’t do the job. Instead, he harasses his boss during Work hours. If he were my son, drag him out myself and teach him a lesson he’d never forget. Five days off is getting off easy.” Orıginal content can be found at.net

Without waiting for a response, Cameron hung up.
The whole conversation had played out on speaker. Kylie had heard every word. Rose said. She couldn’t believe it. The friend shed grown up with, the one she’d trusted her whole life, could actually be this petty and two-faced.
