Chapter 411

Lucinda gave a soft, skeptical laugh. “Of course you’re going to say the clothes here are great. You work here.”
At the sound of her voice, Paige spun around, eyes bright with excitement. “Lucinda, look at this one. Isn’t it gorgeous? Miss L designed it herself. There are only a hundred in the world, and just ten available here.”
Lucinda shrugged, her tone casual. “Honestly, I think it’s just alright.”
Paige just grinned. “Well, we don’t have the same style anyway. It makes sense you’d think that.” Then she turned to the sales associate, her energy infectious. “Can you bring out something that fits her usual vibe? Let her try it on and see if she still says she’s not interested.”
Paige knew Lucinda’s taste inside out. Every time LYLX dropped a new collection, no matter the season, Lucinda had to get her hands on it first. That’s why, the moment Paige got the store’s notification, she called Lucinda to come with her.
But today, Lucinda was acting out of character. “I’m good. I don’t feel great today. I don’t really want to try anything on.”
Paige’s eyes went wide. “Wait, really? You’re not even going to try? So you’re not buying anything?”
Lucinda looked completely unfazed. “If I’m not trying, I’m definitely not buying.”
Paige stared at her in disbelief. “Seriously? You’re just going to walk away? I saw a dress earlier that’s exactly your style. You always love this kind of thing.”
Lucinda replied, “Paige, tastes change. It’s like food. If you keep eating the same thing, you eventually want to try something new. I’ve been wearing LYLX for years, so I was thinking of
She didn’t get to finish the thought. The store manager appeared, holding a dress with obvious pride.
“Miss Norwood, would you take a look at this new piece? It’s a special style. There are only five in the country, each in a different size.”
Lucinda glanced at the dress with a hint of skepticism, but that single look was all it took. She couldn’t tear her eyes away.

The new autumn dress looked like it belonged in a storybook. Every detail was enchanting. The main color was a gentle, creamy white, soft and warm like the first light of an autumn morning. The neckline featured a delicate Peter Pan collar, edged with tiny lace for just the right touch of sweetness. The sleeves were three-quarter length slightly ane puffed, as if they’d floated right out of a ballroom, finished with matching pearl buttons at the cuffs for a hint of quiet luxury.
The top was perfectly tailored to hug the body in all the right places, showing off a graceful shape while still feeling comfortable. A pale pink silk ribbon tied at the waist, gently defining her figure, the bow falling playfully to one side, The skirt was made oflayers and layers of airy tulle, each one finely pleated. When you walked, the whole thing seemed to float with you. Sparkling crystal flowers were scattered across the fabric, catching the light with every move.
“Lucinda, this dress is made for you. It’s so pretty,” Paige said, her voice full of awe.
Miss L really was in a league of her own. Every dress she designed was a showstopper.
Lucinda couldn’t help herself. She
stepped forward and reached out to touch the fabric. It was a blend of
soft cashmere, cozy vet with a beautiful drape, and so smooth it felt like touching silk. She could already imagine how nice it would feel to wear.
The manager caught the look in her eyes and smiled. “Miss Norwood, if you pair this dress with the right heels and a cute little clutch, you’ll be the star of the season.” Chapters fırst released on.net
Lucinda blinked, her hesitation gone. “Alright. Let me try it on.”
