Milana nodded right away, totally on board with Sandy’s idea. She turned to Jenson, her eyes shining. “Jenson, Sandy’s right. After a while, Kylie and Cameron came back to the main hall and started looking for Lydia. What they didn’t expect was to see her sitting right next to Juna, chatting away. Kylie blinked in surprise. “Honey, is that the friend Lydia mentioned? The Davis family’s daughter?”
Lucinda saw Juna and Lydia sitting together in the very center of the front row, whispering and laughing. It stung. Lately, she’d bent over backwards trying to get close to Lydia, always polite and accommodating, but Lydia barely even noticed her. Pretending she didn’t care would be a lie. She had tried to be genuine, but Lydia seemed completely indifferent.

Cameron leaned over. “Yeah, probably. We didn’t know Lydia was Miss L before, but with her status, it makes sense she’d be friends with the Davis family’s daughter.”

Kylie smiled politely. “We were in the lounge for a bit.”
Mrs. Trebel nodded, her eyes sparkling. “Well, you missed quite the show out here” She was always eager for a bit of gossip, and now she could barely contain herself. She loved sharing stories, and tonight was no different.
Kylie’s curiosity got the better of her. “Really? What happened?”
Mrs. Trebel pointed across the room. “See that girl with the Davis family’s daughter?”
Kylie followed her gaze, and as soon as she spotted Lydia, she couldn’t help but smile-her own precious daughter, right there in the spotlight. If Lydia hadn’t begged her not tole reveal her identity tonight, she would have shouted it out to the world.
“Yes, I see her. She’s beautiful,” Kylie said, her voice soft with pride.
Mrs. Trebel nodded. “Not just beautiful. She’s got real talent, too.”
