“What do you want us to do?” she asked, her teeth clenched.
“Have him resign as general manager and get out of here, as far as possible,” Lydia replied, her voice dripping with contempt.
“You’re the one who should leave!” Henry snapped, his eyes practically rolling back in frustration. He looked like he was about to lose it.
Lydia’s words hit Rose hard. The anger she’d been holding back suddenly exploded, wiping away any last shred of patience.

Rose scoffed. “And what if my son refuses to resign?”
The general manager position was second only to vice president. Lydia had already fired two receptionists, and now she thought she could fire Rose’s son too? She had to be dreaming.
“Then he can spend a few days in a cell and learn a lesson,” Lydia said, her tone light, like it was no big deal.

“Police business. Please cooperate,” a voice called from the doorway. Two
uniformed officers stepped inside.
Rose and Henry froze in shock. Lydia had actually called the police.
Lydia handed over a USB drive with surveillance footage she’d already prepared.

Henry was dragged away,
