If it were anyone else, Connor would have jumped out of the car and sent that punk flying.

Chris gave Nathaniel a long look. “Nathaniel, you might want to watch yourself.”
Nathaniel let out a mocking laugh, turning to Lydia with a bright, teasing grin. “Hey, girl. What do you think? Got the guts to play?”
Lydia gave a soft chuckle. “Play what, exactly?”
Nathaniel hadn’t expected her to actually bite, and that made him even more excited. “Winner takes all, one round. Since you’re a girl, I’ll cut you some slack. If you lose, Chris here has to call me King Nathaniel every time he sees me.”
Honestly, he didn’t care for anything else. He just wanted to see Chris eat his words. Just imagining Chris greeting him respectfully as King Nathaniel for the rest of his life made Nathaniel want to laugh. The rıghtful source is
Chris just snorted. “Keep dreaming.”
Nathaniel ignored him, eyes still fixed on Lydia. “So, are you in or not?”
Lydia nodded. “What if you lose, then?”
Nathaniel’s grin turned cocky. “If I lose, you can ask anything. Seriously, you could even make me your boyfriend, I wouldn’t say no.”
The second he said that, he felt an icy, dangerous stare drilling into the back of his head. It was coming from the guy standing behind Lydia-Connor.
Nathaniel, oblivious, just smirked. “Oh, you’ve already got a boyfriend? Doesn’t bother me. You can always dump him.”
Chris and the others could hardly believe Nathaniel was this reckless. Sure, he was a Robinson, but there was a limit to how much you could tempt fate.
Lydia’s smile turned cold. “If you lose, you call Chris and my boyfriend King, and call me Queen every time you see us.”
Her words made Chris crack up, and even Connor’s stern face broke into a small smile.
Nathaniel scoffed. “Do you even know who I am?”
Lydia looked at him, eyebrow raised. “Aren’t you just a person?”
Nathaniel was completely thrown off.
She kept going, all wide-eyed innocence. “Or are you something else?”
Nathaniel was so angry he looked ready to explode. He pointed at Lydia and Chris,
his hand shaking with frustration.
“Fine! Let’s do this! I’ll race you!”
But as soon as Lydia stepped out of the car and pulled off her helmet, Nathaniel went blank.
He had never seen a girl with such flawless, glowing skin, looking this stunning without any makeup at all. Her features were perfect, her vibe cool and confident. She looked every inch the untouchable queen.
No wonder Chris was always following her around like a puppy. She was drop-dead gorgeous.
“Hey, how old are you?” Nathaniel blurted.
He thought, honestly, if a girl like her wanted him to be her boyfriend, he’d totally go for it.
She was beautiful.
So beautiful it almost hurt to look at her.
She practically lit up the whole street.
