Lydia’s eyes cleared, sharp and determined, like she’d snapped right back into her old self.
“We’re starting the surgery.”
Her grandmother was in critical condition. Lydia couldn’t trust anyone else with her life, not even Dr. Hady.
Inside the operating room, the lights blazed bright, making it feel like midday. The tension was so thick it was almost suffocating. Lydia’s focus never wavered.
