Lydia kept calling Grace a servant, and every time she said it, it made Lucinda’s skin crawl. Grace was her nanny, not just some servant. Lydia was just unbearable!
“Grace, tell me. What exactly did they do?” Lucinda snapped, turning to her nanny.

She barely got the word out before Lydia shot her a cold glare. Grace immediately changed her story. “They were having chicken soup and ginseng tea. I thought they were sneaking food, so I scolded them. I honestly didn’t know Miss Lydia had given it to them. Miss Lucinda, I was just thinking of the family. I worried someone was stealing, and I overreacted. It was an honest mistake.”
Lucinda let out a short laugh. “So that’s it? Grace didn’t know you had given them the soup and ginseng. Of course she’d want to question them. She was just looking out for the family. You misunderstood her.”

Lydia glared at her, eyes full of contempt and mockery.
Tina just couldn’t hold it in anymore. She didn’t care if she was crossing a line with Lucinda. She spoke up, her voice shaking with emotion. “Miss Lucinda, I told Grace again and again that Miss Lydia gave us the food last night, but she wouldn’t listen. She never bothered to find out the truth. She was ready to fire the three of us for stealing. And when Miss Lydia came down and explained, Grace actually questioned why Miss Lydia would give us the soup and ginseng in the first place. She’s a servant. How does she have the right to question her employer’s decisions? Honestly, anyone watching would think she runs this house.”
Tina was so angry and frustrated, she just let everything spill out.
The other staff standing around all silently agreed. When Lydia wasn’t home, Grace practically ran the place. Except for the butler and the security team, she bossed around everyone, whether they reported to her or not. If she had been fair, maybe they could have tolerated it. But she was always looking down on them because she was Lucinda’s nanny treating everyone else like they didn’t matter, yelling o punishing them whenever she felt like it. And Lucinda just let her do it. For the sake of their jobs, everyone kept their heads down and stayed quiet.

Grace couldn’t believe Tina had the nerve to speak out like this. How dare she turn things around on her?
Lucinda’s face turned cold. She
glared at Tina, her voice sharp. “Tina, everything Grace does here is with my permission. Am not the one in charger or do you think that because my sister is standing up for you, you don’t have to listen to me anymore?”
