Milana could barely believe what she was hearing. Sandy was really asking for half of Smith Corporation’s assets? Did she even understand how much money that was? And she just wanted half, just like that?
“Sandy, you’re about to get married. Your father and I have promised we’ll give you a generous wedding, but the company’s assets aren’t just ours to give away. There are shareholders, investors, and most importantly, the majority of the Smith family shares are with your grandmother. Your father and I can’t decide this on our own.”
Everything Milana said was true, but the real truth was she had zero intention of giving Sandy that much. Sandy was a girl, and once she got married, she’d be part of her husband’s family. With that, Sandy broke down, sobbing uncontrollably.
Milana clenched her teeth, barely holding back her anger. Why was everyone in this family so impossible? And with Sandy’s outrageous request, any guilt Milana felt just vanished.
“Sandy, what if your father and I say no?” Her voice was cold.
Sandy wiped her tears and looked at her, eyes steady. “Mom, I know you. You’d never let your own son die.”

He walked in, his face darkening. “What’s going on in here?”

Milana sniffed, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Sandy says she’ll donate her kidney to save Luke, but only if we give her half the company. No matter how much I beg, she won’t change her mind.”
“What?” Jenson was stunned. Half?
Milana gave a bitter laugh. “That’s right.”
The company was Jenson’s whole life. Now Sandy wanted half? She might as well
be asking for his soul. Even when they took Lydia to the hospital to see if she was a match, Lydia never asked for anything like this.
“Sandy, we’re family. If you’re willing to help Luke, of course we’ll make sure you’re taken care of. But the company’s assets aren’t for your mother and me to decide. Most of the shares are still in your grandmother’s hands.”
“Dad, have you ever thought about this? If I refuse to give my kidney to my brother one day all of the Smith family’s dosets will be mine anyway.” Sandy looked up, her gaze locked on Jenson, refusing to back down.
