At the Capital’s central police command, rows of officers in uniform stared at the
giant screen, all eyes locked on the chaos of an interrogation that felt almost unreal. At the front, a man in his early fifties with a square jaw and stern look— Commissioner Clark, the same one who’d called Officer Byrne-watched with a
clenched jaw.
“Find out who this girl is, right now.”
