Chapter 1109
Lydia let out a cold laugh. “Grace again?”
Juna clicked her tongue. “What kind of stunt is she trying to pull this time?”
Lydia reached over and patted down the two men, finding their phones in seconds. She unlocked them with practiced ease, wiped out all the secret photos and anything related, then slipped the phones into her own pocket like it was nothing.
She knew Grace and Lucinda kept in touch. Thinking back to what Lucinda had said when they left the Robinsons’ place together, it all clicked. Lucinda was definitely involved tonight. But now, Lydia needed to figure out if these two guys had any ties to Black Eagle. If they did, catching them tonight would be a major win.
Lydia glanced at Juna. “Forget going home. We’re heading to the police station.” Juna didn’t hesitate. “Works for me. I wasn’t planning on going home anyway.”
Meanwhile, Grace was back at her apartment, anxiously waiting for news from her men. She waited and waited, but there was nothing. She checked the clock. Three in the morning. With growing worry, she dialed their numbers. Once, twice, no answer either time. Her brows knitted together, and that uneasy feeling only got
worse.
While she was still trying to make sense of it, someone knocked on her door. Her heart skipped a beat, and a wave of dread hit her. She rushed around the room, looking for the burner phone she used to contact Night Eagle. She didn’t know whether to hide it or not. In a panic, she grabbed the phone and hurled it out the window.
If the phone was gone, no one could prove her connection to Night Eagle.
She’d barely gotten rid of it when Lydia kicked the door open. Lydia walked in, the two men behind her, both now flanked by police officers.
“Lydia… what are you all doing here in the middle of the night?” Grace stammered, completely blindsided. She hadn’t expected her goons to fail so badly, let alone get caught.
Lydia looked at her with a sly smile. “You really don’t know why I’m here?”
The police officers showed their badges, faces unreadable. “You need to come with us.”
Grace’s face went white. She glared at her useless henchmen, wishing she could wring their necks herself.
Lydia didn’t give them any chance to talk. Once they were at the station, she made sure Grace and the two men were questioned separately.
With the evidence staring her in the face, Grace couldn’t deny she’d sent people to follow Lydia. All she could do was stammer, “I just… I was. upset that she kicked me out of the Norwood family. Then I saw her out on the street late at night, and I got curious about what she was up to. Officer, I swear, I was just curious. I didn’t do anythingl.”
Lydia pulled out Grace’s phone and waved it in front of her. “That’s

Grace’s heart skipped. She’d kept this phone on her to avoid them finding the other one, and she had deleted everything between her and Lucinda. But then she But then she

This was bad. She was about to drag Lucinda down with her.
Trying to play dumb, Grace stuttered, “What are you talking about? I seriously have no idea.”
Lydia unlocked the phone and with a tap, messages and call logs with Lucinda popped up on the screen.
Grace’s face went ghostly pale.
“Lucinda told you to have me followed.”
“No, no, it wasn’t her. She had nothing to do with this!”
Lydia’s smile turned icy. “It’s all right here, and you still want to deny it? The police
are already on their way to bring Lucinda in.”
