Chapter 495

The sun comes out and I cover my face with the covers as the rays of light hit on my face. I lie in bed with so much anger crawling out of me. Days are passing by, and I am still here.
Alone.
I shift, roll over, the covers fall off my face, and there I am, staring at the ceiling. The light of the sun hits my eyes, and that is when I notice something on the ceiling. Something drawn with red paint, I don’t know how I haven’t noticed this since. there is a circle with
a line going through it, then a triangle and the circle again.
I know that Lenny did something too. The fact that I have been so weak, so helpless. It is just so unlike me. Maybe this is what he did. Maybe this is how he is able to control me. I stand up on the bed and reach for the writing. My hand trembles as I stand on my toes and rub my finger against the drawing.
Get rid of it. Scrape it off.
My wolf tells me even though I already had the thought. I know this symbol must mean something. There is no way this is a coincidence.
He kept me here. I reach for the paint and it is dry. I need a knife; I need something to be able to scrape it off. Lenny is still not around. I haven’t felt his energy in the house. He left me here with some girl, that also seems to be here against her will. I walk over to the door and open it gently, just as I am about to open it, she pushes it open and that smile is still on her face.
“Where were you yesterday?’’ she asks me immediately, with that creepy smile plastered on her face.
I take a deep breath because I already assumed that she knew that I was gone but she also didn’t do anything about it. Which is just suspicious.
“I went out for some fresh air,’’ I lie.
She nods and walks into the room “If you were trying to escape, there is no way out of here. Lenny is the only one that can get us off this island.”
She walks over to the table by the bed and drops the tray gently, there is blood in a bottle and a plate of meat. “Where is Lenny?’’ I ask her.
She shrugs “He disappears for a while, but he always comes back. You don’t have to worry about anything.’’
I try to act normal and walk over to the door to try and open it, it seems like I am free to move around. Lenny didn’t instruct her that I must stay in my room. So, I can look for something to scrap the writing on the ceiling.
Maybe a knife.
Or your fucking claws.
My wolf shouts at me even though he knows full well that I can’t transform right now. I am too weak to turn.
“Where are you going?’’ she asks me as I take a step out of the room. If I tell her what I am really going out of the room for, it might be suspicious.
So, I lie.
“I need to get water.”
She walks over to me “I can get it for you. Lenny kept me here to serve you.’’
I shake my head immediately “I can go by myself. I need to even move around, can’t be cooped up in here.’’ I wave my hands in the air, silently praying that she gives in.
after a couple of debatable seconds, she sighs and walks out of the room “I will be in my room, if you need anything, let me know.’’ she winks and walks out of my sight. Darrien said I should wait for him but I at least want to try to help.
I know I can be strong but whatever Lenny did to me is messing with me.
I can fight for my freedom.
I can try.
I walk down the stairs until I get to the kitchen. The house is small, I can hear the girl upstairs but I ignore it all as I search for a knife in the drawers. I find a bunch and reach for the sharpest-looking one.
I go back upstairs and climb the bed again. I look at the drawing one last time before I start to scrape through it. The paint is coarse and has sharp edges, it is painful to do, and there is still a chunk that doesn’t seem to want to come off.
I finally manage to get it off. I silently pray that this is not noticed by Lenny when he comes back. I don’t know if removing the drawing will help things but I just want to be back to my old self. I just want to go home and be with Darrien.
I sit down on the bed and take a deep breath as I try to feel my wolf again. I wait for a couple of minutes, for a change and it doesn’t happen.
I raise my hands out, they are shaking again, I know the only thing that is going to help me is a change. No way I am going to let Lenny get the best of me.
My eyes stay on my hand as I try again. I don’t want to fully turn; I just want it to work so badly. I watch my hand as I channel all that I have into this. After a couple of seconds of staring and nothing happening, I start to see it.
My skin starts to change, and I can feel my bones turn and adjust to this new form. I can feel the sharpness of my claws come out, then the fur on my body starts to change. I can feel my face tilt and my eyes adjust to this new sense. Then my ears pop, and the tips of my ears point at where my eyes are. I can hear my spirit becoming more active.
I moan this time; I can feel my heart start to beat faster. I can feel it.
I am growing, I am becoming myself.
It worked.
Now I have to find a way to kill him.
I have to do this while I am strong again.
