I keep walking down the path and from a distance, I can hear music. It is not loud, I don’t even what he could have possibly planned. There is nothing on my mind. Apparently, I am a clingy boyfriend.
In my other relationship, the girls always used to be the clingy ones. Maddie followed me for such a long time, that I had to give in to her, and even know now, I know why she did that, I never really clung unto her.
The sky is already dark. I guess we wasted the sunlight in the car—not that I am complaining. Now I can tick it off my bucket list. Beau is helping me do all the things I have wanted to do all my life. He is giving me purpose and I guess that is why this feels so right. Every morning when I wake up feels like an adventure. I don’t even know what is going to happen. I have been surprised so many times, since meeting him.
The babies in my belly are a surprise that I never even thought would happen. As a vampire, the only way you can have a family is by turning another vampire. Procreation is not something you even consider when deciding to be one but with Beau, he made it possible. He is giving me such a beautiful blessing that I can’t get anywhere else.

I look at my hand for a second and the ring on my finger is blaring. Shit, I know what it is. this surprise that he planned.
He planned our wedding.
“Father,’’ I manage because right now, I am fucking speechless. I don’t know how to react to this. Beau, on his own, decided to plan a wedding for the two of us. he didn’t tell me about it. he managed to successfully keep it a surprise from me.
I don’t know how I feel about this.
“You seem terrified.’’
I nod because my mind is completely boggled right now. I am so terrified to walk into the scene. I know there will be people there. It will be a whole thing. I mean, it is a fucking wedding.
“You’re here, which means you are okay with this?’’
He nods “yes I am. I only want you to be happy and this is the happiest I have ever seen you in all your years.’’
He starts to walk and I follow him “It is a wedding…right?’’ I ask him. I don’t want to have these expectations and then be disappointed. Whatever Beau does, I will love it. I just am so curious that I want to know right now.
He smiles warmly. This is the first time I have ever seen my father smile at me this way. we are talking about my relationship and he has a smile on his face. “You know Beau told me how nosey you have been acting and how hard it has been to keep this away from you.’’
I look away from him because I am guilty of everything he just said. “I just needed to know. Who plans a wedding without their partner?’’
“Someone that loves you so much that he would rather do all the work and have you just walk down the aisle. That man really loves you son. I think you should never let him go.”
His words have my heart racing. I know that Beau loves me. I don’t have any doubt in my mind but the fact that he managed to convince my father just says a lot. I didn’t think I would ever get to this point. Right now, I am in complete shock.
The music gets louder and I suddenly see the canopy. We are in the woods. This is a forest wedding.

“Almost there,’’ he tells me with a smile.
I can’t believe I am getting married to the love of my life in a couple of minutes. This feels so unreal but I am ready for it.
