Blue
We came here to talk about things, get him to see that he needs to be strong. Rex doesn’t think he can do anything. he is very insecure and that is one thing I have noticed about him. I have tried to make him see that he is stronger than he thinks. I know that he is but I need him to see it for himself. I need him to believe in himself.
“I remember everything. I know there was someone else there,” he repeats. Just the fact that he seems to have gotten a bit of his memory must be exciting for him. I don’t know what I will do after I get him back but I need to get him back first. I need him to be himself again and then we can focus on getting Levine back and finding out who is behind all this.
“Did you see the person?’’ Gyles asks.
Rex shakes his head immediately “I only heard a voice. there was someone telling her what to do. It seemed like she didn’t even know what she was getting into,’’ he explains.
I nod “We shouldn’t focus on that right now. I need you back and then I can figure the rest out,’’ I tell him because like I said. Having him back is my priority.
“But knowing who is responsible will make things easier,’’ Gyles interjects. I know he is right because even if we get Rex back, whoever is controlling might still do the same thing again but the first step is getting him back.
“We will cross that bridge when we get there. Right now, you need to come back to us,’’ I face Rex. he gulps down, probably feeling the pressure of my request. I might be asking too much but that is the way we can move forward.
“How do I do that. I don’t even know what is happening.’’
“You have to want to come back. I want you to use this as your motivation. I want you to remember us and what you will be leaving behind. We need you in our lives, Rex. you have to be strong and fight this.’’
I am just confusing him with my words. I might not know how to get him back but I can let him know how important he is to us.
“I don’t know what to do. I am scared Blue,’’ he reaches for me and I hold him. I don’t how long he stays in my arm but I also know that there is no time. we will wake up soon and he will still be in here. The fact that he is alone and scared torments me. I want to take his place. I want to suffer in his stead. I wish I could transfer it all to me. I wish I was strong enough to do that but I am not, so I have to make sure that he gets through this.
“You are strong enough T-Rex. you can do anything, you just have to believe in yourself,’’ Gyles gives him some encouragement. He pulls away from me and reaches for him. I watch them as they embrace. No sense of jealousy, no hurt, just love. A lot of love bursting out of me. Gyles leans forward and presses his lips against Rex’s. The kiss is short and as they pull apart, he rests his head on his forehead “Remember what I told you when we first met?’’ he asks Rex, who just nods his head. I wasn’t there, I don’t know what he said to him but I am here now. I have a chance to find out.
“You can do anything. I see the strength in your eyes. Do not give up so easily. Keep fighting.’’ Gyles mutters and my heart thuds against my chest. I love watching this, it makes my heart melt. Seeing them being intimate, seeing them love each other, could satisfy me for the rest of my life.
“Okay,” Rex mumbles so low that we almost don’t hear him. I know this is hard but I completely believe in him. he pulls Gyles to the bed and I go to the other side, next to him. We lie in each other’s arms; he turns to me “Can we just stay like this until we wake up?’’
I like the fact that he said we.
He is going to come out of this too. He is going to wake up. he is going to fight this fight with us. I have so much faith in him that I know all the things he is capable of.
“Coming to your home was a bad idea,’’ Gyles mutters in his arms. He is looking at me, he wants me to agree with him but I don’t. I am glad he came, I am glad he made me realize just how important they are. I was so upset with him for tricking me that I left the community willing. I wanted to torture him, make him hurt but now, all I want is to be with both of them. I want them in my life and I will do whatever it takes to complete the ritual. I will do whatever it takes to appease the gods. I will be with them, no matter what happens.
“Nothing in life is ever a mistake. You were meant to be here and I am glad that I am fighting this with you guys. I would have been alone but I have the two most important people with me. I take that as a blessing.’’
Gyles smiles and I see that he is content with my answer. I have had a lot of issues with Gyles but I have come to love him despite everything.
“I am ready to wake up,’’ Rex mutters calmly.
My smile widens and I close my arms. His scent is strong in the whiff of my nose. I have been waiting for those words. he is ready to fight with us.
It only takes a second to open my eyes and Gyles is next to me on the bed. we get up at the same time and I walk over to the room next to mine. He follows me, we are hoping to walk in to the real Rex. we are hopeful that he will remember the dream.
My hand rests on the handle “He will be fine,’’ I assure Gyles even though I have the same fear.
