I am a nervous wreck right now.
I have prepared everything, making sure that things go smoothly but I just have this feeling that something will happen to mess things up. I don’t know how many times I have looked in the mirror to make sure I don’t look weird. This pregnancy is moving a lot faster than I expected it to. I know I shouldn’t have been expecting it to be the same duration as humans. Nine months seems like a long time to be pregnant but I maybe would have preferred it over whatever this duration is. at least, I would have had an idea.
I don’t even understand why I am already showing. It has just been two weeks but the bump is already visible. I hate this but I am also excited about the future and every time Beau looks at me, I see the joy in his eyes. I might be disgusted with how I look right now but he seems to think I am the most beautiful person he has ever seen. I guess the spell that comes with being my mate is still covering his eyes. He only sees what his heart feels and that is okay with me.
I change my shirt for the third time since I came into the room. This time, I am wearing one of Beau’s shirts. It is very big on me but this is the only one that hides the bump. The door to our room opens and he walks in with a smile on his face.
“You are not wearing that shirt,’’ he walks over to me and starts to attempt to take it off but I fight him off by running to the other side of the room.
His teeth come out in a smile as he walks over to me “You are finally showing and I don’t want you to hide it for anyone,’’ he tells me as he stops in front of me. I raise my hands up in the air, in a way of warning him to keep his distance but this just gets a laugh from him. “You know you can’t run away from me,’’ he raises a brow. This is like a challenge to him and he wants to win.
I will not let him win.
“My father doesn’t need to see this,’’ I pull my shirt up and his smile widens as I show him the growth, in just a couple of hours. It is something I have been focused on, I have been monitoring the growth and every little change is noticed.
He walks up to me and grabs my hand in his before I can pull the shirt down. His eyes stay on the bump “He needs to see this; everyone needs to see this.’’ he goes on his knees and presses his lips to my stomach. I close my eyes as his warmth seeps through me. he is the one that makes things better. This is easy, thanks to him. he is the light that is keeping me going.
“You don’t have to hide this,’’ he breathes as he slowly stands up and stares into my eyes. I watch him because I don’t want to argue with him, things are so great between us. I have been in this bubble ever since my acceptance.
“I don’t want this to be the topic of conversation, he is just coming around,’’ I explain.
“Your father is not going to focus on your pregnancy. He is coming to make amends with you. stop worrying.’’
He makes it sounds so easy. Like I could just put on a brave face and no one will see right through it. Fathers opinion of me and my family is very important to me and maybe that is why I sought validation from him when I first met Beau. I wanted him to accept him. I wished for the day when this opportunity would be given and it looks like we are at that place right now.
He is finally coming through and I don’t want to throw the pregnancy in his face. he is already aware of it and I know how he feels about it. he is not completely comfortable with it but he is coming around.
“I can’t help but worry, my stomach is ginormous,’’ I exclaim. Another added change is my emotional threshold. Every little thing makes me cry; all my emotions are heightened. I am overly happy or sad. There is no middle grown and Beau has noticed. He is always there to calm me down. He is always there to satisfy my cravings.
He rests his hand on my stomach “You are not ginormous. You are fucking beautiful and if I have to remind you every day, then I will do just that.’’ he rubs my tummy, and my heart dances in my chest. At the end of the day, he is the only one that I need validation from. I haven’t fully come to accept it because I have always been a family man. Father and my siblings have had an important place in my heart and I want it to remain that way. I want to always be there for them and I want them to always be there for me.
No matter what happens.
“You can wear my shirt, you know I like it when you wear my clothes anyways,’’ he brushes it off with a smile.
He is giving me what I want because that is the way it has been ever since I found out I was pregnant. I know there have been times that I have taken advantage of the situation. I like that he dotes on my every demand. It makes me feel special, it makes me feel loved. I roll my eyes and he pulls my chin up, till my eyes are on his “The moment this dinner gets too much for you, we are going to end it…okay?’’
I nod because I know this is something he can do.
He only wants me to be happy and right now I am ecstatic.
