The front door is locked when I try to turn the handle over. it is not like I expected it to be open but I am strong enough to open it without leaving too much damage.
All I need to do is turn it over forcefully and that is what I do. I have the powers to convince and manipulate and that is what I am going to do. manipulate him after I am done.
I enter the house and it is dark but I can see clearly. I look up from the front door to the stairs and I see the light that was visible from the window. It is still on and blaring.
That must be the father’s room.
It has to be.
I walk up the stairs and to the room, slowly opening it. there is a man on the bed, he is seated and reading a book with glasses on. There is also a woman asleep. The room is bright, I don’t know how she could be asleep in this brightness.
The man looks up and shock plasters on his face as he drops the book on the bed and jolts up immediately “Who the fuck are you and what are you doing in my house,’’ he reaches for his side table and pulls out a gun from the drawer.
The wife opens her eyes and fear is plastered on her sleepy eyes.
I don’t hesitate. I don’t cower because I am not afraid of a fucking gun.
“Oh, I would think you would recognize a monster when you see one,” I take a step closer to him even though he is pointing a gun. I don’t want him to shoot because I don’t want the neighbors to hear. I want to do this stealthily.
I don’t want to cause a scene or raise an alarm.
“What do you want?’’ the woman speaks up. her voice is shaking.
“I just came here to talk. Came here to show you how disgusting I am.’’ I smile. The anger in me is making this even more appealing.
I want to see them cry.
I know some might say that I am treating hate with hate but that is not what this is. I am not about to make them miserable. I am here to educate them.
No matter what it takes.
“What the fuck are you talking about. Who the hell are you?’’ the man shouts, disregarding his wife at this moment.
“Oh, you know me. you know all about my kind.” I smile as I take down my hood and show him my face clearly. Suddenly, a flash of recognition swarms his face. he knows who I am.
I have met this man on a couple of open days. We have been in the same space and his dismay had always been evident. I just thought he didn’t like me in general. I didn’t know that he hated that Beau was next to me so proudly.
Now it is all clear.
He wouldn’t want his son to be hanging around people that made him sick to the stomach.
Of course.
If only he had just kept it to himself. if only he had just ignored us like the others in that school that didn’t like our lifestyle.

The kids could have been friends without any animosity.
“Get out of my house right now or I will shoot you for trespassing,’’ he warns me.
The smile remains on my face “Drop the gun,’’ I tell him, looking directly into his eyes. I watch his pupils dilate and I know what is going to come next. I don’t use my powers that often because I hate controlling people. I hate manipulating people but I need to do this now.
I need to control him.
His hands start to shake and I watch as the gun drops on the floor “There we go, now we can have a conversation,” I tell him calmly even though he looks confused “Have a seat won’t you,’’ I add, slowly turning to his wife “You too,’’ I tell her.
They both settle on the bed, out of their control and I take a step towards them “Now, do you know why I am here,’’ I ask.
“What the fuck are you doing to us. Why can’t I fucking move?’’ the man asks.
I smile ignoring him.
“You must know why I am here. It must have taken you a while to coach your son on how to hate.’’
’I don’t know what you are talking about,’’ the man rolls his eyes.
I widen my smile.
“What was that about monsters and disgusting people, does that ring a bell?’’ I walk even closer and pull his face up from his chin so that he can look at me. “You hate me, don’t you?’’
“I don’t even fucking know you.’’
Exactly.
You don’t even fucking know me.
“You hate my kind. Faggots.’’
His eyes open wide and the shock that I can be so direct is evident on his face. “Why are you so surprised, you taught your son that word.’’
His wife looks at him immediately “What is he talking about honey?’’ she asks and I gather that she didn’t know.
“I don’t know. This man is obviously insane.”
Oh. I am insane.
“Don’t play with that kid in your class. The one with the two dads. I don’t want to see you with that boy again.’’
I wasn’t there. I don’t know what he said to his son but I know it must be something along those lines. These kinds of people aren’t creative for shit. It is always the same shit.
Being different will always scare them.
Will always make them feel terrified.
He put his fear into an innocent child. I will never blame Max. I will blame the person that is raising him and that is his father.
