Chapter 166
Chapter 166:
Ellie used to wear a mask when she went to do makeup for clients. This was one of her spare masks.
She wished that Kaiden would wear a baseball cap in addition to the mask. However, when she looked at his designer shirt and pants… Wearing a baseball cap with such a classy outfit would be really out of place.
Kaiden frowned in disgust at the sight of the mask and directly refused to wear it.
However, ten minutes later, Bruce saw Ellie and a tall man wearing a mask walk out of the CEO’s office.
“Mr. Thorpe, are you… Are you suddenly sick?” Bruce asked in confusion, as Kaiden hadn’t worn a mask earlier in the day.
He even wondered whether Kaiden had kissed Ellie so hard that his lips were swollen.
Thinking of that, Bruce glanced at Ellie.
Ellie’s lips were normal.
Realizing what Bruce was thinking, Kaiden gave him a cold look.
The cold look sent shivers down Bruce’s spine, and he didn’t dare to ask any more stupid questions. He followed Kaiden and asked politely, “Mr. Thorpe, where are you going now? Do you need my help with anything p>
“You can go back now,” Kaiden replied calmly.
“What? Well… Okay!” Bruce was surprised at first when Kaiden said he could go home at this time. After all, it was still quite early. However, he quickly realized what was happening and remarked, “Are you going on a date with Mrs. Thorpe? I’ll send a driver here right away p>
Ellie’s face reddened with embarrassment when she heard what Bruce had said. “It’s not a date p>
She was about to explain that they weren’t going on a date, but Kaiden interrupted her.

“No need to call a driver. Just arrange a car for me,” Kaiden said to Bruce.
Bruce was Kaiden’s subordinate. Since Kaiden didn’t bother to explain himself to Bruce, then why should Ellie care?
After hearing what Kaiden said, Bruce glanced at Ellie. Kaiden’s simple words were a clear answer to his question. In that case, there was no point in Ellie arguing.
After all, there was nothing wrong with a couple going on a date.
Ellie urged Bruce to choose a discreet car. Driving the Koenigsegg to the business district might attract unwanted attention.
Seated in the passenger seat, Ellie stole glances at the man behind the wheel. A black mask obscured most of Kaiden’s face, leaving only his striking eyebrows and captivating, starry eyes visible. His heroic demeanor carried a distinct hint of aloofness.
Ellie began to doubt her decision. Kaiden’s appearance was anything but inconspicuous; in fact, he could easily be mistaken for a celebrity.
They parked the car nearby and strolled along the pedestrian street. After only a few steps, Ellie sensed Kaiden’s restlessness. Observing the bustling crowd, his expression soured slightly with disdain.
