Chapter 188
Chapter 188:
Reassuringly, Ellie replied, “You’re not someone else. You’re my husband p>
Kaiden’s pupils trembled slightly, and his earlier displeasure disappeared as he heard those words. They kept echoing in his mind. “My husband p>
In the study, Bruce called Kaiden and provided detailed information about the events at the Rich Bar. He hadn’t known all the details when he was outside the police station.
“Speaking of which, Mrs. Thorpe celebrated her birthday on this day for the first twenty years… Actually, it was yesterday,” Bruce noted, realizing it was now past midnight.
The previous night, all the debutantes and wealthy heirs in the city were aware that Demi, the daughter of the Gordon family, was celebrating her birthday at the Rich Bar. The fact that this day had once been reserved for Ellie’s celebration went unnoticed by everyone.
It was her birthday yesterday…
Kaiden remained oblivious to it, completely overlooking the occasion. His wife’s birthday celebration hadn’t yet taken place. How dare Demi flaunt her own birthday party and bully his wife!
After disconnecting the call with Bruce, Kaiden dialed Jerome’s number.
“Kaiden, what’s up?” Jerome’s voice carried traces of sleepiness.
Kaiden replied, “I have something to discuss p>
Jerome, a heavyweight in the entertainment industry, was the most suitable person to generate online discussions and shape public opinion.
“About what? The GT Group? Or the Thorpe Group p>
“Demi was taken to the police station last night,” Kaiden revealed.
“Bruce will send you the details p>
A few seconds of silence followed on the other end of the line. Jerome gradually woke up and confirmed he hadn’t misheard. “Kaiden, you called me at half-past three in the morning to ask me to stir up attention about Demi? Is it worth calling me just because of her p>
“Nothing else. Go back to sleep.” Kaiden ended the call.

Certainly, Demi wasn’t worth it.
But Ellie was.
Kaiden returned to the master bedroom from the study, with only the floor lamp illuminating the room. Its dim light created a cozy ambiance.
On the right side of the oversized bed, the quilt bulged, indicating Ellie’s presence. Beneath it, she breathed softly and quietly. She slept with her back to the light source and toward the door.
Climbing into bed, Kaiden covered himself and naturally embraced Ellie. He gently touched her cold hands.
The winter chill made it difficult for Ellie to warm her hands and feet.
Sensing the warmth beside her, Ellie subconsciously leaned towards Kaiden in her sleep. He held her waist, gently turning her around until her face rested in the crook of his arm.
