Chapter 403
Chapter 403:
What was more surprising was that Kaiden willingly complied, and he seemed quite pleased about it!
Carole’s face lost its color, turning ashen. The smug expression she wore earlier vanished. It wasn’t just because Kaiden indulged Ellie’s brazen behavior, but also because she had heard Kaiden’s chuckle. It was brief, but she was certain she heard it. Kaiden had actually smiled. Suddenly, Carole felt foolish for having asked him to intervene with Ellie. It seemed Ellie had orchestrated this whole scenario from the start!
“You used to be a top socialite, but now look at you, Ellie. How shameless,” Aphrodite interjected, defending her friend. “You’ve really lost all sense of dignity after being friends with someone as bankrupt as Baylee p>
At that moment, Ellie set down the cards she was holding and fixed Aphrodite with a calm, yet unnerving stare.
The room fell silent. Then, in a swift movement, Ellie reached out as a waiter passed by with a tray of desserts. In a blink, she grabbed something from the tray and approached Aphrodite.
“Clang!” The sound of the collision echoed.
“Aah!” Aphrodite’s scream followed immediately.
Ellie, holding Aphrodite by the neck, pressed her head onto the table. The cards she had been playing were scattered and disheveled by Aphrodite’s head. She held a fork in her other hand, its sharp tines pointing menacingly at Aphrodite’s neck.
In the light, Ellie’s face looked delicate and beautiful, but it was marred by an icy coldness. Her eyes were devoid of any emotion, making her appear both chilling and intimidating.
Aphrodite, on the verge of struggling, froze at her warning.
“Don’t move,” Ellie said, her voice devoid of expression. “Make one more move, and I might just do something that will land you in the ICU p>
The feeling of the fork’s cold tines against her neck caused Aphrodite’s heart to plummet. She swallowed hard, too afraid to move an inch.
“Oh my God…” Essence gasped, her hand covering her mouth, shocked by Ellie’s actions.

The room was silent, everyone too stunned to speak, taken aback by Ellie’s swift and unexpected aggression.
“What’s gotten into you, Ellie? Let me go…” Aphrodite’s voice quivered, fear evident in her tone, worried that the fork might pierce her artery.
“Anyone can say Baylee is bankrupt, but you have no right,” Ellie sneered. “Your family lives off what Baylee left behind. Who are you to judge her p>
“Ellie, stop this madness!” Carole, seeing her friend in distress, snapped back to reality. She grabbed Kaiden’s hand, pleading for his intervention. “Kaiden, make her stop, please p>
Kaiden felt an intense gaze.
He looked up and caught Ellie’s icy stare.
Ellie’s eyes were fixed on Carole’s hand, which held his.
Kaiden gently pulled his hand away, saying, “Carole, I can’t make her stop p>
He thought if he said anything more, Ellie would be really mad at him later.
Why would he bother with Aphrodite’s troubles?
After what she said, she brought it on herself.
