Chapter 484
Chapter 484:
After Jorge’s birthday celebration, Kaiden, puzzled by Ellie’s cryptic remarks, had asked Bruce to investigate any potential connection between Demi and Carole. The investigation revealed, however, that the party had been Demi’s first meeting with Carole.
Lost in thought, Kaiden was startled by the ringing of his phone.
He glanced at Ellie, then decided to take the call first and speak with her afterward. Ellie’s lips twisted into a sardonic smile.
Kaiden’s avoidance of a direct answer was a silent refusal to dismiss Carole.
As the phone call continued, Kaiden’s expression darkened. Without warning, he stood up, a frown forming on his face.
“Ellie, something’s come up. I’ll see you tomorrow,” he said, urgency in his voice.
Ellie’s gaze dropped, her expression clouded by an air of cold indifference.
She had seen the caller ID. It was Carole.
One call from her, and Kaiden was ready to leave.
“Wait,” Ellie said, taking a deep breath to steady herself. “Kaiden, are you really going to leave now p>

Once Kaiden left, the room sank into a hollow silence. It felt starkly vacant.
Perhaps the emptiness wasn’t in the room, but in Ellie’s heart. Kaiden’s promise to stay with her tomorrow now seemed distant and hollow.
Brisa’s condition worsened despite the medication.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Kaiden discovered the doctor was hesitant to administer any treatment without his consent.
“Kaiden, I’m so sorry. It’s my fault. I should’ve taken better care of your mother. She’s been in so much pain, even though she took her medication regularly p>
Carole’s apologies were interrupted by sobs and sniffles.
Unbeknownst to anyone, it was Carole who had switched Brisa’s medication with harmless vitamins, causing her sudden decline in health. Yet, Carole had no other options.
After all, it was only during crises involving Brisa that Kaiden would rush to her side.
