While it was common knowledge that Marvin and Kaiden weren’t close, many were aware that Baylee and Kaiden’s wife shared a much closer relationship. With both Katharine and Marvin making their positions clear, the tide of public opinion began to gradually shift.

Then, the media published a statement attributed to Bruce, speaking to Talon beneath the Thorpe Group building. “Mr. Thorpe, do you believe that you… oh, sorry, I misspoke. Do you believe that someone spreading rumors about Mr. Kaiden will guarantee you control of the company? It won’t be that easy.”

Conspiracy theories began to surface. If Kaiden encountered problems, who stood to gain the most?

Undoubtedly, it would be Talon and his family.

Soon enough, it was revealed that Talon was Jorge’s illegitimate child, born out of wedlock. The internal conflicts within the affluent family, paired with the revelation of the illegitimate child, pushed the incident into the media spotlight.

“Sir, should we continue shaping public opinion?” Bruce inquired over the phone.

“By the way, was it you who reached out to Miss Lambert and Mr. Hill? Should I arrange thank you gifts?”

“No, it’s unnecessary,” Kaiden replied indifferently.

It hadn’t been him who reached out to Katharine and Marvin. It could only have been Ellie.

Kaiden ended the call, a soft smile.

Everyone craves affection.

Everyone likes to feel cared for and special.

Ellie could tell that Kaiden was particularly passionate that night, which indicated that he must have been in a good mood. She couldn’t hold it in any longer and threw a pillow at him.

Not wanting to leave the house, Ellie invited Baylee to the manor. However, before Baylee could arrive, Omiros walked in.

Ellie’s startled expression didn’t escape his notice.

“Ellie, you forgot I live next door, didn’t you?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.

With an embarrassed smile, Ellie lied, “No, of course not!” But in reality, she had completely forgotten.

Lately, she had been so busy, and her time with Omiros had been sporadic. She hadn’t seen him often.

“Your exams are starting next month, aren’t they?” Ellie asked, quickly trying to change the subject. “After that, you’ll be free.”

Omiros tilted his head, his look accusatory, as if to say, “You forgot about me, and now I’m annoyed.”

Just then, Baylee entered, seeing Ellie trying to pacify Omiros.

Omiros stopped throwing his tantrum immediately, putting on a cold expression when he noticed someone else was there.
