“Yeah, Mr. Everly did lose some blood,” Will began, but Liliana cut in, squeezing past him. “Finn’s not in serious danger. At least his life isn’t at risk. Ms. Sullivan, if you’ve got other things to do, go ahead, you don’t need to wait around here p>
Liliana shot Amara a hostile glare. With Finnian out of the picture for now, she felt free to express her disdain.
Amara ignored her, finding a bench to sit on. She fixed her gaze on the emergency room doors, planning to wait for Finnian to wake up.
After all, it was because of the impending divorce that Finnian had driven off in the first place.
While it wasn’t directly her fault, now that she was here, she figured it was right to wait until he woke up before leaving.
“Mrs. Everly, are you feeling alright?” Will uttered as he noticed Amara’s pale forehead, dotted with beads of sweat. “Should I get you some water p>
“No, thank you,” Amara replied with a faint smile. “I just rushed over here too quickly. I’ll be fine after a short rest p>
Her fingers curled into her palms, her mind a whirlwind of anxiety.
She kept telling herself that it was normal to worry if anyone she knew was in the hospital, let alone someone she had cared about for so many years.
So, her current panic was understandable.
And since Finnian’s injuries weren’t severe, he’d be okay. She just
needed to wait a little while lone

Soon, Kevin arrived.
Amara stood up to greet him, and after a brief conversation, they sat together on the bench, waiting quietly.
At some point, the doors to the operating room swung open. Everyone got to their
feet instantly, looking to the nurse for an update.

With those words, the weight that had been pressing on Amara’s chest lifted, and she sank back into her seat.

“Ama, he’s awake, he’s awake,” Kevin exclaimed, his eyes moist. He struggled to stand up as Amara quickly offered him some comforting words.
Liliana watched the seemingly harmonious grandfather-in-law and granddaughter- in-law duo, a flash of resentment in her eyes, though she hid it well.
About half an hour later, in a hospital room filled with the sharp scent of antiseptic, Finnian lay in bed.
His face was a bit pale, looking slightly weaker than usual, but not fragile.
He seemed alert, with no major injuries, though his arm and head were wrapped
in bandages, making movement a bit difficult.
“We conducted a full examination on
him. Although he hit his head, it’s just a superficial wound. There’s no
internal damage, and once the injuries heal, we can remove the stitches p>
