“Elysia’s wedding is happening way too soon. If she’d just given us a bit more
notice, I would’ve definitely taken some time off to be there,” Amara grumbled, a hint of regret in her voice.
Amara remembered her surprise when Elysia first broke the news. It seemed like only yesterday.
She playfully teased, “Looks like you’ll miss out on the wedding feast. Better have Elysia make it up to you with a dinner later p>
“Sounds good… Oh, the director’s calling me. Gotta go, I’ll ring you later,” Keith said hurriedly, as he saw the director approaching with a determined look.
As the call ended abruptly, Amara chuckled softly at the blank screen. She’d only called Keith because she was feeling a bit down and needed to chat with a friend. Despite their conversation being mostly trivial, it cheered her up considerably. She ambled over to the window, casually gazing down at the street below.

Elysia was usually the life of the party, always outgoing. The fact that she chose to text instead of popping by spoke volumes about her current state. Clearly, she needed some alone time.
Amara respected her friend’s need for space and replied, “Take it easy. If you don’t feel like coming out today, just stay in. I’ll play bouncer if anyone tries to bother you p>
She paused, then added another message, “Get some rest. We have the rehearsal dinner tomorrow p>
In Wye, the wedding customs were a blend of traditions. The rehearsal dinner was held the day before the main event, featuring a casual meal and the couple making rounds to greet everyone. Today was two days before the wedding, with the rehearsal dinner set for tomorrow. Amara knew Elysia was still committed to marrying Dorian, hence her gentle reminder.
Elysia’s response was a simple “Okay,” and Amara set her phone aside. That night, she slept soundly, free from the recurring nightmare of falling into a black void. She awoke early the next day, refreshed and ready to go.
By 7 AM, she was already up and about. The hotel had left breakfast outside their door, so she wheeled the cart inside and texted Elysia, “Breakfast is here. I’m starving, so I’m digging in. Come join me when you’re up p>

Amara nodded, suppressing her irritation. Despite her disdain for Dorian, Elysia’s desire to marry him meant Amara had to play nice. “Ely’s still asleep. She texted me first thing, saying she’s not in any rush. She’ll get ready when she wakes up, and she doesn’t want anyone disturbing her,” Amara explained, trying to keep her tone neutral.
