Chapter 924
Amara let out a cold scoff. “Since you said that, it means you know your behavior is annoying. I do find you annoying!”
As if deliberately trying to infuriate him, she emphasized her last sentence heavily, making sure the words “find you annoying” stung.
Finnian’s expression darkened. “Amara, don’t say things like that. It hurts.”
Hearing this, Amara wanted to scoff even more.
“You think you’re hurting? Well, you always make me hurt too.”
The more she spoke, the more a wave of sorrow hit her. She didn’t want to deal with him anymore and turned to leave.
But before she could take two steps, she heard footsteps behind her. The next second, Finnian enveloped her in a tight embrace from behind.
Holding her securely, he buried his face in the crook of her warm neck and took a deep breath, finally feeling a sense of peace.
His entire night had been filled with restless anxiety. The mere thought of Amara planning a late-term abortion procedure left him suffocating in despair.
He felt as though his heart was adrift, unable to find an anchor. The sheer agony was unbearable.
Only now, holding her in his arms, did he feel grounded, as if a weary traveler had finally found his way home. He let out a long, silent sigh of relief.
But while he found comfort, Amara found anger.
After a brief moment of shock, she immediately tried to pry his arms off her. “What are you doing! Don’t act like a creep at my front door first thing in the morning. Let go of me!”
Finnian noticed that her temper was growing fiercer by the day, though he secretly thought it was a good thing.
He would rather she blow up at him than treat him with chilling indifference. He couldn’t stand her icy detachment.
He loosened his grip but didn’t release her completely, turning her around to face him. “Keep the baby. You’ve always wanted this child, haven’t you? I can feel it.”
“If it weren’t for your father’s demands, you wouldn’t have gone through with it, right? Amara, you love this baby.”
He spoke slowly, his eyes locked onto hers.
Amara met his gaze. Initially, she had been unfazed, but his words sent a sudden wave of panic and embarrassment through her, realizing he had seen right through her. She immediately lowered her head.

Just then, a large hand rested on her head, gently stroking her hair twice.
Although Finnian had held and
kissed her before, he rarely touched her hair. They were adults, after all and stroking someone’s hair was
usual an affectionate gestione
reserved for children. Amara stiffened slightly.
He pulled his hand back after a couple of strokes. His gesture was comforting, and
his tone was filled with tender affection.
“Amara, I care for you deeply, and I know you better than you think. I can tell you want the baby.”
“I’ve already spoken with your father.
If we remarry and keep the baby, he’ll agree to it. So, let’s get married again I’ll spend the rest of my life taking care of you and our child, okay?”
Recently, Finnian’s attitude toward her had drastically shifted.
In the past, he had always been gentle, agreeable, and even a bit coaxing.
But lately, as she grew more adamant about rejecting him, he had become forceful, even resorting to threats a few days ago. The tension between them had been at a breaking point.
Yet now, his tone had softened entirely, speaking to her with a gentleness reserved for a child.
