“I figured it out!” Liliana whispered sharply, “Even though I’m not pregnant, that sharp table corner could have seriously hurt me. You better check again p>
“Alright, I’ll run some more tests.” The family doctor replied with a weary tone as the machines started humming. Hogan quietly shut the door, feeling his heart pounding in his chest.
What had he just overheard? Liliana wasn’t pregnant at all?
Then what was the deal with her supposed baby bump? Oh, right, there was no baby, so she must have lied about being pregnant to trick Finnian.
“What’s up with you?” Finnian called in, noticing Hogan standing at the door with a shocked expression.
Hogan shook his head, “Nothing, Finnian. I’ve got to go, something came up.” Hogan hurried away, leaving Finnian to frown at his friend’s odd behavior but decided not to dwell on it.
Back home, Hogan tossed and turned all night, unable to sleep.
