Chapter 906
“Ely, let’s talk about something happy. I’ll be stuck on bed rest for the next couple of days, so I plan to sleep a lot. But I also want a massive comfort food feast.”
“This kind of procedure doesn’t really have dietary restrictions like stomach surgery, right? I just need to get my strength back…”
“So, I want a huge feast. Maybe some BBQ ribs and mac and cheese. I definitely didn’t eat enough last time…”
Amara rambled on, trying to distract herself. Elysia couldn’t help but smile. “Alright, alright, BBQ ribs it is.”
“You can stay tucked in bed, and I’ll set up a tray right over your lap. I’ll pull up a chair and wait on you hand and foot, how does that sound?”
“Let the record show, you’re the only person I’d ever do this for. I don’t cook, and I definitely don’t serve people in bed. You should feel incredibly honored.”
Amara let out a genuine, teary laugh.
She knew Elysia was working hard to lift her spirits, and she desperately wanted to shake off the crushing gloom.
As they sat chatting, Amara’s phone buzzed. It was Larry Sullivan, asking which hospital she was at.
Amara didn’t think much of it-there was no harm in him knowing-so she gave him the address, assuming he was just checking in.
To her absolute shock, ten minutes later, Larry strode into the crowded corridor. His commanding gaze swept over the waiting area until he spotted her.
Amara immediately stood up. “Dad!”
Hearing her voice, Larry walked over. His eyes flicked briefly to her slight bump before meeting her gaze. “Are you in line? How many people are ahead of you?”
“Just two or three,” she replied. “It shouldn’t be much longer. They have multiple operating rooms running.”
Larry gave a curt nod and silently took a seat next to her.
He didn’t offer any grand speeches, but his posture made his intentions clear: he was here to support her through the procedure.
Moments ago, while drowning in sorrow and reluctance, Amara had quietly harbored a bit of resentment toward her father.
She knew Larry wasn’t the direct reason she was giving up the baby.
If keeping the child was her absolute top priority, she could have easily forfeited her majority inheritance and settled for the ten percent.
She was more than capable of

The real reason she was going through with the abortion was Finnian.
Finnian refused to let her go, and he had his sights set on the baby.
If she gave birth, he would endlessly insert himself into her life, fighting her for custody and turning her peaceful existence into an absolute nightmare.
So, Finnian was the true catalyst for this heartbreak.
But Larry’s pressure had certainly played a part, sparking her fleeting resentment.
Yet now, seeing him drop everything to sit silently by her side in a sterile hospital hallway, a quiet wave of gratitude washed over her.
Human emotions were so incredibly complicated, she mused, and life was entirely unpredictable.
Two or three years ago, she never would have dreamed her fractured relationship with her father could be repaired. Honestly, even two or three months ago, she wouldn’t have believed it
