Liliana stared down at the script, her eyes locked onto the lines of text. Suddenly, a spark ignited in her mind, and she narrowed her eyes.

She clenched her fists, her heart hammering wildly against her ribs with manic excitement.

It was beyond reckless. If she failed, it would be a catastrophic loss. But if she pulled it off, everything would be worth it.

She closed her eyes, weighing the risks for only a moment before making her decision.

Standing up, she walked deliberately toward the equipment room.

Meanwhile, Finnian was in his office, reviewing documents. The receptionist had informed him earlier about Liliana’s arrival and how she had been turned away. He had merely offered a brief nod of acknowledgment and put it out of his mind.

But an hour later, his phone rang. It was Jenny Porter.

He hadn’t planned on answering, but figuring it wouldn’t hurt to hear what she had to say, he tapped accept.

Jenny’s frantic voice poured through the speaker Finnian, something terrible happened! Liliana was filming a scene, and she fell from the stunt harness-she dropped from over six feet high! There were jagged prop rocks beneath her, and she landed right on them? She’s injured, covered in blood! It’s horrific. Can you please come see her?”

Finnian’s brow furrowed tightly. “She’s hurt? How bad is it?”

A fall from over six feet wasn’t typically life-threatening, but if she landed on a dangerous obstacle, it was a different story.

“She didn’t hit her head, so her life isn’t in danger,” Jenny cried frantically. “But the lacerations on her body are severe. The worst part is… the new wound overlaps exactly with the scar she got from saving you years ago. It looks horrifying…”

Jenny’s voice trembled with desperation.
