What the hell was going on?!

Over the years, she had crushed Andrew’s mistresses with an iron fist, succeeding seven or eight times out of ten. Yet, when it came to Amara, she faced nothing but humiliating defeats.

She had orchestrated so many attacks, deployed countless schemes, and burned through immense resources, but not a single plan had worked. Why?!

Right. It was all Finnian’s fault!

Every single time she closed the trap on Amara, her own precious son swooped in as the savior!

With a powerhouse like Finnian guarding the girl, how could any of her plots possibly succeed?

The realization that her own flesh and blood was violently turning against her for another woman pushed Emma to the absolute brink of madness.

Speak of the devil. Finnian stormed into the house, his polished shoes crunching over the carpet of shattered porcelain and glass. Emma stood amidst the wreckage, a hysterical mess, glaring at him with venomous hatred. She clearly knew why he was here.

Since she already knew, he skipped the pleasantries. Stepping right through the debris, he delivered his warning with glacial precision. “You tried to touch Amara again? You have a lot of nerve.”

“You little bastard! You’re shielding that tramp again?!”

Screaming, Emma lunged forward, raising her hand to slap him. Finnian caught her wrist in a vice grip in mid-air.

When Amara had slapped him the night before, he had seen it coming miles away but deliberately let it happen.

He would gladly let Amara strike him, but he would never tolerate a hit from Emma.

He shoved her arm away, his gaze terrifyingly cold. “I protected her, and I will continue to protect her for the rest of my life. Don’t you ever dare lay a finger on her.”

She might have been the woman who birthed him, but he was hollowed out by absolute disappointment.

Considering the countless times she had tried to orchestrate Amara’s murder, Finnian had to face a grim truth-he was beginning to legitimately hate his own mother.

“How did you know my plan beforehand?” Emma shrieked. “Did you wiretap me?!”

Emma wasn’t an idiot. For Finnian to arrive at the perfect second to intercept a moving target meant he had full knowledge of her operation.

She had just hatched the plan that morning, and by the afternoon, he had already sabotaged it. The sheer efficiency proved she was being heavily monitored.

Finnian didn’t even bother to deny it.

Emma’s eyes bulged in absolute horror. “What are you talking about? Are you freezing my assets?!”

“Exactly that,” Finnian stated coldly.

Did he actually mean it? Was he really cutting off all her credit cards? Emma’s eyes

nearly popped out of her skull as sheer disbelief washed over her.

Growing up in the Everly family, she was a pampered heiress who had never known a day of financial worry. When she married into the main branch of the Everly family, she only grew more lavish, casuall Burning through fortunes or a daily basis.

Putting a surveillance detail on her was humiliating enough, but stripping her of her financial power? How was she supposed to function in high society without money?

Hysteria took over completely. She lunged at Finnian, wildly throwing punches as she screamed, “You ungrateful son! You’re cutting off my cards?! How could you do this to me?!”

Finnian effortlessly deflected her

blows and shoved her back. “You’ll

receive a basic living allowance

moving forward. Your meals,

housing, and essential transport will

be covered. As for anything else,

forget about it. Enjoy your retirement.”

Without another word, he turned his back on her and walked out.
