Chapter 888
She refused to look at him anymore. Done with the conversation, she shut the door right in his face.
Amara didn’t know if Finnian walked away immediately, but she turned back and resumed talking to Keith.
The encounter left her visibly drained. Seeing her mood plummet, Keith offered a few soft words of comfort before taking his leave.
After sitting in the quiet lounge for a while, Amara suddenly felt the urge to talk to Elysia and headed over to find her.
As soon as they met, Amara sighed. “Finnian came looking for me again…”
She recounted the tense showdown between Keith and Finnian. Elysia listened closely, then said, “You’re absolutely certain you’re done with Finnian, right?”
Amara nodded, and Elysia pressed on. “Then let’s handle the baby situation first. When are you booking the procedure?”
She knew that as long as Amara was pregnant, Finnian would keep showing up. The only way to cut the cord was to get it over with.
“How about now?” Amara suggested. “These things require appointments anyway. We can see what dates they have available.”
Elysia had previously mentioned they should use the same hospital where she had been treated, since she was already on a first-name basis with the attending physician.
Elysia nodded. “Let’s go.” They headed out together.
At the hospital, they went through the standard check-in process and met with the
doctor. Amara clearly stated her intention to terminate the pregnancy.
The doctor had her do an ultrasound to check the baby’s status.
Afterward, she reviewed the results, “Your health is fine for the
rel
procedure, but you’re quite far
along over four months
standard
pracedure isn’t an option, you need
a late-term abortion procedure.”
Amara had already prepared herself for this. She nodded. “I understand. Will it take
a heavy toll on my body?”
“It’s impossible to say there will be zero impact,” the doctor explained gently. “But i will assign our most experienced surgeon to ensure any physical trauma is kept to an absolute minimum. I’ll write up the order you can pay at the billing. counter and schedule the surgery there.”
Amara nodded and, with Elysia by her side, went to settle the bill.
The process was swift. She paid the fee and booked her slot for the morning, two days away.
They took the receipt back to the doctor, who gave it a quick glance. “Make sure you get plenty of rest and sleep over the next two days. Eat normally. The day after tomorrow, show up at the surgery ward at your scheduled time.”
“Because of how far along you are, you’ll likely need to stay in the hospital for a day or two afterward for observation. We’ll assign you a bed based on your condition. Don’t worry, we have private hospital rooms available.”
Amara nodded and stood up. “Thank you for your help. I’ll be going now.”
Stepping out of the hospital, Amara tucked the receipt into her purse, a heavy sense of surrealism washing over her “This all feels like a bizarre dream was so excited for this baby. I had even started looking at schools for the future. And now, I’m just letting it go…”
“If someone had told me two months ago that I’d be terminating this pregnancy, I would have called them crazy.”
Elysia nodded sympathetically. “You loved this baby so much back then. Who could have predicted this?”
Back then, Amara’s relationship with Larry was still fractured. Desperate for a real family, she had pinned all her hopes on the child growing inside her.
