Finnian must have fallen for Amara after seeing her face, right? Otherwise, Dorian just couldn’t figure out why Finnian liked her.
“Nope,” Finnian said, shaking his head.
Dorian was taken aback.
Finnian wasn’t one to lie, especially about something so trivial. Dorian blurted out, “You mean to tell me you liked her before you even saw her face? How does that even happen p>
Finnian shot him a chilly glance, and Dorian promptly clammed up.
Great, now he was being protective. Dorian couldn’t even talk about it anymore. “So, how do you feel now that you’ve seen Amara’s face p>
Dorian lounged on the couch, pouring himself a cup of coffee while he asked.
Finnian leaned against the doorframe, his handsome face unreadable, and said something that left Dorian completely gobsmacked: “Ever since I saw her face in the daylight, my heart’s been racing like crazy. It still hasn’t calmed down p>
Dorian spit out his coffee.
“You’re a grown man pushing thirty. Could you not say stuff like that? It’s making me queasy p>
Finnian just gave him another look and turned away, ending the conversation.
Recalling recent events and the evening when he saw Amara’s face, Dorian chuckled at the absurdity of it all.
“Alright, alright. You can mull it over. I’ve got to head out,” he said, thinking it was best to get home before Elysia started suspecting he was off with Jessica.
Earlier that day, Amara had fallen into the chilly pond and was worried about her unborn child. She wanted to see a doctor but was hesitant to go to the general hospital for a check-up. Once her caretakers left in the evening, she pretended to head home but instead snuck off to a maternity clinic.
After the check-up, the doctor assured her that her baby was doing fine, which was a huge relief.
But once home, she remembered
that she wasn’t supposed to take off
her mask yet. She’d not only
removed it today, but her skin had also come into contact with the murky pond water. Anxious again, she called her dermatologist.
“Actually, you’re about ready to ditch the mask,” the doctor said after hearing her story. “You should wear it for about five hours a day, give your skin some air the rest of the time, and in a month you canstop wearing it altogether p>
“As for the pond water, don’t worry. Your skin’s just like anyone else’s now. It’ll handle a bit of dirt p>
With that reassurance, Amara felt at ease.
Taking off the mask was a bit weird, but it made her happy, especially when Cedric and the others complimented her.
Being pretty sure felt good, and since the doctor said it was okay, she decided to seize the moment and go mask-free to embrace her new life.
The next day, Amara went to the film set without her mask. As soon as she walked through the gates, everyone flocked around her, exclaiming how beautiful she
was.
A bunch of young actors came over, calling her “sister” and praising her looks, urging her to ditch scriptwriting and become an actress instead.
Amara laughed and chatted with them before finally escaping to the break room.
The joy of being mask-free exceeded her expectations. She hummed a tune, sitting at her computer, and got back to revising the script.
