After leaving the Sullivan family, Amara was deep in thought about the whole situation.

She figured there was an eighty percent chance that Elowen was involved, possibly with Fiona pulling the strings. Without Fiona, it was hard to imagine Elowen coming up with the idea of using a silencer on her own.

If Fiona was truly behind this, things were going to get tricky. But Amara had faith in the police. She believed that with time, the truth would eventually come to light.

Shaking off the dark cloud that had settled over her thoughts, Amara decided to pay a visit to the hospital to see Finnian.

Right after the explosion, she’d quickly covered her nose and mouth with a damp cloth. Even though Finnian had been in the flames for a shorter time than she had, he ended up with carbon monoxide poisoning, while she did not.

Logically speaking, Finnian’s injuries weren’t minor; he should have stayed in the hospital a few more days. But when Amara arrived, she found him in the process of checking out, with Liliana by his side.

Feeling like she had come at the wrong time, she turned to leave, just as Finnian’s eyes caught her retreating figure.

“Amara!” he called out.

Amara paused.

Finnian took a few strides to catch up to her, pulling her to the side of the bustling hallway. Without asking why she was there, he said, “I’ve just been in touch with the police. They’re investigating, and I’ll help you get to the bottom of this. Don’t worry p>

Amara was surprised that Finnian was offering to help her investigate.

“Mr. Everly, that’s not necessary. I’m already grateful that you saved me. You don’t need to go through all this trouble. I can handle it myself,” she said.

Finnian didn’t agree or disagree; he just looked at her intently, his gaze deep and thoughtful.

Noticing Liliana peeking around the corner, Amara quietly said, “Mr. Everly, I just came to check on you. Seeing that you’re alright, I feel relieved. I’ll take my leave now p>

She turned and left, not glancing back once.

Liliana joined Finnian, noticing his gaze still lingering on Amara’s retreating figure. “What did Amara want?” she asked.

“Nothing,” Finnian replied, dragging his attention back to his discharge paperwork.

Back home, Amara felt exhausted and uneasy.

The main issue was she had no idea who wanted her dead, and she

feared that whoever it was might try again. This anxiety gnawed at her, like a relentless shadow.

While she was brooding, there was a knock on the door. Amara opened it to find Keith standing there, and she invited him in.

“When did you get back?” Keith asked, slipping off his shoes. “Why didn’t you let me know p>

“You were busy filming, and I saw your updates on Facebook,” she replied.

“I could have taken time off. What’s more important than your safety p>

“Come on, I don’t want to trouble you,” Amara said, playfully nudging him.

As they settled on the couch, Keith noticed the fatigue etched on Amara’s face. Knowing her cautious nature, he understood her fears. Let me get you a couple of bodyguards,” he suggested. “They can be with you all the time, ready to jump in if anything happens p>
