That didn’t come as a surprise to Hogan. Amara was never one to get involved in other people’s business, so he doubted she’d show up.

He shot Amara a glance, noticing she didn’t want to talk to him anymore. Straightening his suit, he stood up and walked away.

Now that Amara was expecting a child, there was no way he would encourage Finnian to get back together with her. Still, Hogan knew Finnian’s feelings hadn’t changed he was still in love with Amara. The thought made Hogan feel a bit sorry for his brother.

Time passed quickly. There were only five days left until Finnian and Liliana’s wedding.

Lately, Liliana had been drawing a lot of attention. She’d cleared her entire schedule to focus on the wedding, throwing herself into every detail-dress fittings, makeup trials, menu tastings-she was constantly busy.

And every time she did something, she would post about it on Twitter. Her posts trended almost every day, and it felt like the whole internet was following her wedding preparations.

One day, Keith asked Amara out to dinner. After they were seated in the restaurant, he took her hand, concern written all over his face. “Are you holding up okay?”

Amara was a bit confused. “I’m fine. Why do you ask?”

Keith hesitated before saying, “Liliana’s been so public about everything lately. I just thought it might be hard for you.”

After all, Amara probably still had feelings for Finnian.

Seeing Liliana’s high-profile wedding updates all over social media every day couldn’t have been easy, and Keith was genuinely worried about her.

Amara smiled and patted the back of his hand. “Don’t worry. I honestly don’t care much about it anymore.”

Maybe it was because things had dragged on for so long-she really didn’t feel much of anything now.

She still felt a faint sadness when she thought about Finnian getting married, but mostly, she just felt numb.

Not wanting to dwell on it, Amara picked up the menu to order. Lately, she’d found herself getting hungry more and more often.

After she finished choosing, she

handed the menu to Keith. He

checked off a few dishes for himself, fa then tapped her lightly on the head. “Let me ask you something-did you want me to take the lead in Letters from

Yesterday because you hoped it would revive my passion for acting?”

“Why do you ask that all of a sudden?”

“I’ve reread the script these past few days, and the more I read it, the more it feels like that’s what you meant.”

Amara smiled.

“That’s right. You’re a really talented actor, and you genuinely love this work. It would be such a shame if you just left the industry.”

“And besides, don’t you have nearly a hundred million fans? Aren’t you even a little worried about how they’d feel?”

Keith laughed. “A hundred million? Where’d you get that number? That’s just something people say online. The real number is nowhere near that high.”

He let out a sigh, his expression turning reflective.

She’d thought he might only decide that after making Letters from Yesterday, but she hadn’t expected him to make up his mind before filming even started.

Keith smiled. “Of course I’m serious. Why would I lie to you?”

The truth was, he never truly wanted to quit. He still loved acting. The idea of leaving had only ever been a way to try to be closer to Amara, just a temporary

measure.

He also realized that if he gave up his career because of her, it would only put more pressure on her.

If he wanted any hope for a future

with Amara, for their relationship to deepen, he knew he couldn’t burden

her with that kind of guilt. Otherwise,
