Chapter 900
Dorian froze. He hadn’t expected Amara to suddenly bring that up, and for a moment, he was struck completely speechless.
Amara didn’t wait for his answer. “Lucian is sincere. He never lies to Elysia, he treats her with absolute devotion, and most importantly, he respects her. He respects every decision she makes.”
“Those are qualities that both you and Finnian entirely lack. Neither of you respects others, which is why neither of you deserves love.”
Without giving Dorian another glance, Amara turned on her heel and walked away.
Dorian stood frozen in place, staring at her retreating figure. It took him a long time to pull himself out of his daze.
Amara had only spoken a few sentences, but they struck him like an earthquake. He had never once looked at the situation from that perspective.
He stood by the door for ages, Amara’s words echoing relentlessly in his mind.
Minutes passed before he finally snapped back to reality. Slowly, he retreated back inside and sank onto the couch, sitting in silence for a long time.
When Amara got home, panic began to set in. She downed several glasses of water, but her nerves wouldn’t settle.
Even though she had won the verbal spar against Dorian, she was terrified underneath.
Would Dorian really tell Finnian about her abortion?
If Finnian found out, he would definitely try to stop her. After all, he had sworn to fight her for legal custody, which meant he desperately wanted this child.
Filled with anxiety, Amara eventually went to sleep. The next day, she skipped the set entirely, choosing to hide out in her villa.
She spent the entire day paralyzed by dread, waiting for Finnian to storm through the door, demand she cancel the abortion, and start a massive screaming match.
But she waited all day, and Finnian never showed up. What was going on?
Had Dorian decided not to tell him?
Or did Finnian know but was choosing to bide his time, planning to ambush her at the hospital to stop the procedure?
Frowning, Amara agonized over it until evening, finally realizing she couldn’t keep spiraling like this.
She had no idea what tomorrow would bring, but she needed to focus on her work for today.
Skipping the set during the day was fine, but there was a crucial scene being shot that night, and she wanted to be there to observe.
She forced herself to eat dinner, pulled herself together, and headed to the studio.
When she arrived, plenty of people
were still casting curious glances her way, A lighting technician
strolled over and joked, “Ms. Sullivan,
you came all by yourself today?
Didn’t the boss tag along?”
The comment rubbed Amara the wrong way. Feigning ignorance, she asked, “Who
is this boss? And why would he come with me?”
The technician paused, looking a bit awkward, “I meant Mr. Everly, our
biggest investor, the Chairman of
the Everly
Everly Group thought he was
courting you. Why didn’t he come?”
Amara gave a light “Oh.” Then she added, “Finnian Everly? Is he courting me?”
“That’s news to me. But regardless, we have no relationship whatsoever, so there’s zero reason for him to be here with me.”
With that, she offered the stunned technician a polite smile and turned toward the breakroom.
She dropped off her belongings,
stepped back out to exchange a few
words with Merest, and
pulled up a stool next to the
monitors, ready to review her notes.
Just then, Keith walked over. “Your procedure is scheduled for tomorrow at the
hospital, right? Let me go with you.”
