Chapter 6

“Are you okay?” Amara was startled and blurted out the question instinctively.

Finnian remained silent. Just then, Kevin hobbled out with his cane, clutching Amara’s hand as he wailed, “Ama, our family has been cursed with such a disgrace! I’m so sorry for you p>

Finnian turned his head, speaking coldly, “Once Liliana’s child is born, I’ll have him added to the Everly family lineage. Isn’t a successor what you wanted? Well, here you go p>

“You’re saying this just to spite me! Get lost p>

Kevin waved his cane furiously, and Finnian left without sparing a glance at Amara.

Holding back the urge to watch him leave, Amara helped Kevin back to his bedroom before pulling Lisa aside and whispering, “What happened p>

“Mr. Finnian Everly told Mr. Kevin Everly first thing this morning that he’s divorcing you, and then he mentioned Liliana’s pregnant. It really upset Mr. Kevin Everly p>

Amara was taken aback. Finnian had just learned about Liliana’s pregnancy and immediately told Kevin? He must really care about Liliana, not wanting her to suffer without a proper status, which was why he did it.

“But Kevin’s health p>

“Ah, Mr. Kevin Everly’s health report came back fine. As long as he eats properly, he’ll be okay p>

Amara nodded. Finnian was a filial person; if Kevin’s health were really in jeopardy, he wouldn’t have acted so defiantly.

With that in mind, there was no reason for her to stay here out of concern for Kevin’s health. She promptly returned to the house she shared with Finnian, planning to pack up and move out quickly.

Back at the villa, Amara pulled out a suitcase she hadn’t used in a while and began folding her clothes neatly, a deep distress settling in her heart.

She was about to leave the place she’d called home for three years. Once she moved out, she and Finnian would truly have no future together. The thought made her heart ache.

She thought about Liliana again, recalling Kevin’s words about “that actress p>

So, was Liliana Finnian’s ex-girlfriend?

Perhaps when they were dating before, Kevin disapproved of someone from the entertainment industry, leading to their breakup, and now they were back together?

The stomach was the organ that reacted to emotions, and Amara’s twisted in pain as she thought about this. A wave of nausea hit her, and she rushed to the bathroom to vomit.

She emptied her stomach of everything she ate last night, feeling somewhat relieved, only to find her clothes stained with vomit, some of it even on her arm. She took them off, deciding to shower.

She hadn’t brought a towel with her before the shower and couldn’t wear the soiled clothes back out. Thinking it through, and remembering she was the only one in the villa, she dried herself with a towel and stepped out of the bathroom stark naked.

And then, she felt a shadow moving towards her, and before she knew it, she had collided with someone. Amara let out a short gasp, instinctively pushing against the person’s chest.

Their legs tangled together, and they both fell, with Amara landing right on top of the man’s chest.

The unexpected encounter left her terrified, but in that brief instant, she recognized the man as her husband. Amara reacted quickly, unsure which part of herself to cover. She quickly slapped a hand over his eyes and used his chest as leverage to try and get up. Her movements made the man beneath her tense, a vein throbbing at his temple.

Few minutes ago, Finnian was about to enter the bathroom. Just as he reached for the door, swung open from the inside, and a flash of bare skin collided into him.

The warmth and softness in his arms made his mind go blank, a loud ringing in his ears. Then, the person in his arms began to squirm.

First, a soft little hand covered his eyes, and then another warm hand pressed against his chest. Sweat began to bead on his forehead, his body tensing as he growled, “Stop moving p>

The person on top of him seemed as startled as he was, freezing completely.
