After leaving Liliana’s apartment, Hogan was heading back to the office when his phone rang. It was Will Zade. “What is it p>
“Mr. Hogan Everly, do you remember the man responsible for your accident?” Will asked. “We were supposed to arrange a meeting, but… he committed suicide this morning p>
Hogan paused, his brow furrowing. “Committed suicide?” The drunk driver had put him in a hospital bed for over a week. He despised the man and had told Finnian he wanted to see him face-to-face. Finnian had been making the arrangements. He never imagined the man would kill himself.
“Yes, at the station. They found him too late,” Will explained. “What are your instructions?” Will suspected something was off about the suicide and was asking if Hogan wanted him to investigate.
Hogan agreed it was strange. “Look into it,” he ordered.

Nothing stays secret for long. News of Amara’s upcoming trip eventually reached Mr. Kevin Everly, who, in a state of alarm, immediately called and asked her to
come over.
When Amara arrived at the family estate, Mr. Everly met her at the door, leaning on his cane. He took her hand. “Ama, where are you going? Why are you leaving without telling your grandfather p>
Amara gently took his arm and guided him back to the sofa. “I’m just going traveling, Grandpa. I’ve barely been anywhere all these years. I’ve never really had a chance to explore the country p>
“How long will you be gone?” he asked, his voice edged with anxiety.
Amara and Finnian were his favorite grandchildren. With Finnian constantly busy with work, he rarely saw him. If Amara wasn’t around either, he would be terribly lonely.
“Just a few months,” Amara said with a smile. “Maybe half a year, a year at most, then I’ll be back p>
She was nearly four months pregnant, and a small bump was already starting to show. She had taken to wearing loose tops to hide it with six months of pregnancy to go, plus another month for recovery, it would be the better part of a year before she could travel freely again. She planned to return to Wye to see him as soon as she was able.
Mr. Everly was disappointed but knew he couldn’t stop her. He squeezed her hand. “You be careful out there. Have your fun, but come back soon. Don’t stay away too long p>
