“Heh, she doesn’t care even if her appetite’s ruined,” Dorian murmured, his eyes clouded with a mix of emotions that were hard to decipher.
“By the way, where did you run off to earlier?” he asked, looking up.
“I dropped you home first, but when I came back, you were gone again p>
“I went to see Amara p>
Finnian was slumped on the couch, rubbing his temples.
Dorian froze in his tracks, lowering his glass in disbelief as he looked at Finnian.
“No way, man, are you serious?” He nudged Finnian’s shoulder. “Do you really like Amara p>
That afternoon, Dorian had visited Finnian at his office. Finnian had mentioned liking Amara, and Dorian hadn’t taken him seriously, thinking Finnian must be confused.
So, he took Finnian out for drinks, trying to talk some sense into him.
He thought he had succeeded, but now Finnian was still saying he liked Amara.
Having been friends for over two decades, Dorian knew Finnian well enough to know that he wouldn’t say something like this unless he meant it. So, did he really have feelings for Amara?

Dorian was speechless, staring at Finnian with an incredulous expression.
“But even if you like her, what can you do?” Dorian sighed. “I dropped by your office earlier and saw a paper filled with names. Liliana must’ve given it to you, right? She wants you to help name the baby p>
“What are you going to do about Liliana p>
Finnian closed his eyes, a turbulent darkness swirling around him, and for a long while, he remained silent.
Dorian sighed again, patting Finnian’s shoulder. “You really need to think this through,” he said before getting up and leaving.
Finnian stayed on the couch the entire night, only rising at the break of dawn when the first light crept through the window.

Amara glanced at him, seeing the sincerity in his expression. After a moment’s thought, she got into his car.
She had rented this apartment because it was conveniently close to the set-just a short walk away.
Finnian drove barely a hundred meters before stopping at the studio entrance, pulling over gently. “Amara, I’m sorry,” he said.
