But from what Dorian was saying, could it really have been Finnian who braved the flames to rescue her yesterday?
“How’s Finnian?” Amara asked immediately. “Was it really him who saved me yesterday p>
“Yeah, it was him,” Dorian replied. “He passed out from carbon monoxide poisoning after getting you out. He’s still in critical condition. Do you want to see him p>
Dorian’s face betrayed no emotion, but his eyes were clearly filled with intense discontent.
Amara closed her eyes momentarily and said, “Alright, I’ll go see him p>
With Elysia’s support, Amara got out of bed, and the three of them made their way to Finnian’s hospital room.
Dorian had exaggerated a little-Finnian had indeed been in a life-threatening situation, but he’d been stabilized a few hours ago. He was out of immediate danger, though still unconscious, and no one knew when he’d wake up.

“We saw the staff gathered outside your room, shouting, as the incident unfolded p>
Dorian had accompanied Finnian

Amara, and feared she might get caught up in it.
Amara pondered, who could have wanted to harm her?
Elowen was her prime suspect, given their history. Elowen had tried to harm her before, even going as far as slashing her face with a knife. Wanting her dead wasn’t out of the question.
But Elowen wasn’t the only possible suspect. Amara couldn’t be certain.
And who had sent that anonymous text to Finnian? Who was secretly helping her?

Elysia interrupted her thoughts, taking her by the wrist and leading her to the hallway. “Something’s up with Finnian lately,” she said.
“During my wedding a few days ago, when you had that spat with Dorian, Finnian kept stepping in to defend you. And now, he’s risking his life to save you. What’s going on with him p>
Amara hesitated and then said, “Finnian confessed to me recently. He said he likes me, but I just can’t believe it p>
Elysia was stunned. Finnian had feelings for Amara?
If she’d heard this a few days ago, she’d have been just as skeptical as Amara.
But after seeing Finnian risk everything to pull Amara out of the fire, she couldn’t dismiss it so easily.
