Dorian, sporting a frustrated expression as if he couldn’t believe what he was seeing, stepped aside to give Amara space.

Her cheeks flushed slightly at her own words-what could someone like Finnian possibly need from her? Still, it was important to express her gratitude.
Her feelings were a jumble at the moment. She was overwhelmed by Finnian’s selfless act and found it puzzling. Deep down, she struggled to believe that he truly had feelings for her.
Finnian, too, was wrestling with his emotions. He had resolved to move on from Amara, yet the moment he learned she was in danger, he couldn’t stop himself from rushing back. He gazed into her beautiful eyes, remaining silent.
