It didn’t surprise Amara when Mr. Kevin Everly came over and said those things earlier in the day. What caught her off guard was Finnian showing up at her door that evening because of it.
“Did my granddad come by today?” Finnian asked, standing at the threshold without stepping inside. “What did he say to you p>

Recalling Mr. Kevin Everly’s words from earlier, Amara found herself at a loss for words.
Finnian quickly added, “Whatever he said, don’t worry about it. I’ll talk some sense into him when I get back p>
Amara hesitated for a moment, then nodded, “Thank you, I appreciate it p>
“It’s no trouble; it’s my responsibility,” Finnian replied.
He gave her a lingering look before turning to leave. Despite his tall and sturdy frame, there was a certain loneliness about his silhouette. Amara, unsure of what prompted her, called out, “Wait a minute p>
Finnian paused and glanced back, “What’s up p>
Amara contemplated for a moment before asking, “Why are you interested in me p>
She simply couldn’t wrap her head around it. Finnian had never seen her with her looks restored; the only image he had was of her scarred face, marked by those gruesome scars that even she found repulsive.
Why would someone as impressive as Finnian be drawn to her?
Finnian hadn’t anticipated the question, a slight smile playing on his lips before he quickly straightened his expression. “Does there need to be a reason?” he replied.
That response left no room for further discussion. Continuing the conversation would only lead to an awkward tension. Amara chuckled softly, “Just curious, Mr. Everly. Take care p>
After Finnian left, Amara went through her nightly routine and lay in bed, her mind replaying the events of the past few days until she finally drifted off in the early hours.
But Amara wasn’t the only one who found sleep elusive that night. Liliana lay awake, pondering the situation endlessly. She couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.
Why on earth would Finnian be interested in Amara? It was a puzzle she couldn’t solve.
The next morning, just after eight, Hogan showed up. He had heard about Finnian’s daring rescue of Amara from the fire and found it utterly bewildering, prompting him to seek his “sister-in-law” for a chat.
“Sis, Grandpa says Finnian’s into that girl-how’s that possible? Finnian’s not blind!” Hogan exclaimed the moment he walked in.
Liliana’s face was a storm cloud. Indeed, Finnian wasn’t blind. Why would he like Amara?
Amara might look decent with a mask on, but the photo of her unmasked face had made rounds on the internet, and it was enough to make anyone queasy. How could Finnian still be interested after seeing that?
Seeing Liliana’s silence, Hogan continued, “Finnian really likes that girl? That’s insane. Maybe she cast some kind of spell on him p>
It was a throwaway comment; no one in their right mind believed in such things in this day and age.
Liliana replied coldly, “I don’t know what’s going on, but stay out of it for now p>
“Alright, sis, don’t stress out too much. Finnian’s probably just in a daze. He’ll come to his senses soon. Take care of yourself and the baby; don’t let this get to you p>
After a slew of reassurances, Hogan noted Liliana’s nod and left.
Even back home, Hogan couldn’t shake the feeling that something was seriously wrong. After pacing back and forth several times, he couldn’t stand it any longer and went to Amara’s place. The moment she opened the door, he blurted out,
“What did you do to FinnÃan? Why does he keep saving you p>
Amara had heard Hogan knocking persistently and calling her name, so she had
no choice but to let him in.
