In Finnian’s eyes, Keith’s silence was a confession. The baby was his. At that
moment, something inside him snapped, and he lunged at Keith, the two of them collapsing into a vicious brawl at the hospital entrance.
Upstairs, Elysia walked to the window to see who Keith was talking to.
She, too, had a strange feeling it was Finnian.
She never expected to look down and see the two of them locked in a furious fight. She let out a gasp.
“What is it?” Amara asked, a sense of dread creeping over her.

She threw back the covers, grabbed the crutches beside her bed, and said, “We have to go down there p>
Downstairs, Finnian and Keith were trading blows, both of their faces already bruised and bloodied. They fought with a desperation that suggested they wanted
to kill each other, and a small crowd of onlookers had already gathered.
Suddenly, a sharp voice cut through the air. “Stop it! Both of you p>
The familiar voice instantly broke the two men apart.
Amara stood there, leaning on her crutches, her eyes blazing with fury.
They remained where they were, panting and glaring at each other, murder still in their eyes.
It didn’t take a genius to figure out who had started it. Amara hobbled over to Finnian. “You, with me. Now,” she hissed, before turning and making her way toward the gardens behind the hospital.
Finnian shot one last dark look at Keith before following her.
Keith started to follow, but Elysia stopped him. “Let them talk. I’ll take you upstairs. What on earth was that all about p>

The fact that she was so quick to defend Keith twisted the knife in Finnian’s heart.

Finnian was unbelievable.
He had always accused Keith of having feelings for her, and now he was claiming Keith was the father of her child. He was such an idiot! The baby was his!
Besides, she and Keith were best friends. Why did he have to tarnish their friendship like this? It was infuriating.
Seeing her genuine anger, Finnian froze.
“So… the baby isn’t his?” he asked, a flicker of hope in his voice as he reached for her hand.
While he couldn’t stand the thought of her being with any other man, the idea that the father was Keith had been his worst-case scenario. Now, Amarawas telling him that his darkest fear was untrue, and for a fleeting moment, he felt a sliver of relief.
